Logistically, here is how it will work for those who already have a permit, per the Sheriff's Department:

Existing licensees who want to add or change a firearm to their license or add a red-dot sight or flashlight to their firearm will submit a request through Permitium. The Sheriff’s Office anticipates that licensees will be able to submit such a request within the next few weeks. Following receipt of this request, the Sheriff’s Office will schedule the licensee for range qualification with the new or modified firearm. To accommodate the requests, the Sheriff’s Office is adding dates and times for range qualification. Given existing staffing and range commitments, these appointments are expected to commence in early November. For flashlight qualification, licensees will need to schedule an evening appointment.

If you are getting close to renewal anyway, it may make sense to just wait until you renew.

This is such a big win for us here in Co Co. Thank you so much for all you guys have done. I have become a 5 year member because of this lawsuit and the UsPS one; still waiting on my physical membership card.

Will they allow non optic ready slides that have been optic cut by a third party? Or are they treating that as a modification?

For optics ready slides, have they mentioned anything about aftermarket steel plates being used; over the factory Oem plastic ones?

I also realized this will mean, if we want to qualify with lights, we will also need to buy new OWB holsters to accommodate the light for quali; and then also new appendix holsters as well for carry (for appendix folks).

I hope they revise the modifications policy overall. There was a big difference in how they inspected guns during qualifying on my initial vs my first renewal (they didn’t inspect much the second time around) so they may have an informal policy of not caring.

If I can send my Glock to wager machine works for a slide job that gets me excited, if I have to buy a whole new firearm I’m less excited. I also technically cannot swap out the useless mag release on my 30 year Glock 19, which is annoying.

We didn't get into that nitty gritty, especially as thanks to Boland, there are so many guns that come factory-ready for red dots.

By my read of the agreement, guns milled for slides should fall within it, as long as you don't do other modifications. But let me know if they give you any trouble and I'll reach out and see if we can work that out with them too.

Personally, I wouldn't even mention it's a milled gun, as they may not even be bothered by it unless you draw attention to it.

Awesome news, I had a friend going crazy messaging me about this win so thank you for fighting against these losers

I never got a membership card, are we supposed to get one? I paid for one year

Hey so I asked and they said they sent you a digital one, which is our standard practice, but you haven't opened it. They told me they will get a physical card sent out to you too.

That said, for this particular settlement, it is not limited to SAF members, the Sheriff has agreed to change these rules as to everyone. The ones limited to SAF members are injunctions done by courts. When we settle, we don't limit relief that way.

Hey that's cool, thanks! I am logged in on the website so I see the digital dashboard with my CC info, if that's what it was. Appreciate you (also do you guys ever hire investigators, now that would be cool)

I was allowed to use AIWB for my qual. You will not need to purchase an OWB WML holster unless that's just something you want.
