Curiosity: Has 2A sites shared/sold your info?

Backstory: I purchased a barrel from Zaffiri Precision a few months ago. Not to be paranoid, but when using a '@gmail.com' email address, you can add '+...' to your email right before the '@' and it allows you to track who sold/shared your info. For example, if you email is "john.smith@gmail.com", you can add "john.smith+zp@gmail.com" to notate to yourself that it was Zaffiri Precision.

Received a few emails this week from other 2A vendors that I've never purchased from or visited. When I look at the recipient field, I found that the email was indeed address to "my.email+zp@gmail.com" - meaning it originated from Zaffiri Precision.

Anyone else do this or notice any other sites sharing/selling your info? In particular; 2A sites, not just general spam/marketplace sites.

I haven't been diligent enough to do this. Instead what I've done since I didn't do it.

1. Migrate email
   1. Moved off all my important emails to a new email address.
   2. New email address uses 2FA w. token and setup recovery systems Phone + Backup email
   3. Important websites get their own password with a password manager
   4. Backup password manager & 2FA backup password
2. Part II Sanitizing Original Email
   1. Mailbox cleaning - Clean the existing one and unsubscribe as many things that are legit that I signed up for
   2. Now use the email+website@gmail.com for all new sites I sign up for.
3. Use 2FA for everything

I've had my gmail account since it was invitation only in beta. That account is on so many lists doing a one time migration to sanitize all important emails. It's a lot better now since I've done that. These day's I'm way better at adding the +sitename[at]gmail.com. That reminds me to update my emails with it.

It's good practice not to use your personal with other personal and assume it's going to be sold if you put your email down for something.
