Optic that reminds me of a short bus
$2K MSRP and $400 +/- in govt fees

You forgot about the bastardization of the diamond pattern grips. Those used to mean something, now totally devalued.

Wish I would have bought one of these back in the day. I refused to buy any S&W with an ILS. Should have grabbed it and put the ILS delete kit in. Sigh

TRR8s are pretty available now - you can even order them from Sportsman's.

We are lucky to have the new 686 mountain gun. I want one but am holding back due to the qc issues I've been hearing.

I agree. I’ve been strongly looking at the new mountain gun series, but it’s been riddled with quality control issues. I don’t wanna take a chance on a $1200 gun. We shouldn’t have to.

It has a high capacity feeding cylinder, no cylinder disconnect, the upper and lower has to be separated before you can open the cylinder and no loaded cylinder indicator.... It's common sense gun violence prevention.

Aimpoint Acros are excellent optics, which has a bonus to use hardly any power. I simply leave mine on all the time and just replace the battery once a year.

My Thoughts exactly, and its a shame coming from s&w they were supposed to be the one revolver brand we can depend on. I would just get the 686+ but I hate the look of the internal lock. Will probably end up getting the gp100 in 3".
