Denied PPT

Afternoon,

So I had done a PPT, this past week. I arrived with the necessary paperwork at my LGS then realized I when I got my Real driver's license they used my middle name, but on my CAC(military ID) it's not there because I didn't want to use it when I enlisted. I asked if I'd get denied for that I was told it shouldn't be, I asked if I was, could get my wife to dros it they said no. The seller was right there and said if you don't get approved then you(me) lose my dros and the money given to the seller and he keeps his gun. I did the ppt anyways knowing I should have no issue as I have purchased firearms before. I'm hoping the seller was joking because money is money, and I would hope he would give back my money if I got denied. Have anyone experienced anything like this and what would you have done?

Turner's has saved a PPT for me more than once, when another FFL decided to make up laws that don't (and DIDN'T) exist... I've had my longest wait (to start a DROS) at the same Turner's location as what was probably my fastest pickup on a PPT, so yeah, if they are busy, the fact that they triple check everything for accuracy can mean some frustration sometimes.

I've had employees that were obviously new that were unsure about the whole PPT process and made "mistakes", but in each case corrected quickly after they realized or were told by a "senior" employee that they made a mistake (and I've had smaller FFL's that made mistakes and some corrected, others... well...).

There are reasons that I won't EVER use certain other FFLs (like a certain one that I was informed and have seen others state the same, that WILL NOT transfer an off roster!!). I've had some FFL's that didn't know the rules about "scary guns", and respectfully passed on using them for a transfer - at least a couple of those ended up going through Turner's without issues.

To be fair, I did run into an issue during the avalanche of transfers before the sin tax, where some paperwork with a similar name got mixed up and delayed (with good communication on what was going on). Once they sorted out I wasn't the guy who was getting refused, the pickup was no problem... and they had warned about the flood of transfers they were dealing with thanks to the evil overlords.

The absolutely rediculous pile of insane and ineffective legal "hoops" one must jump through to be a law abiding gun owner and stay within "the lines" is far beyond "infringement". We see the "toys" that are confiscated every day from actual criminals that "law abiding" can't have, plus we see many "death by 1000 cuts" attempts to further choke off 2A rights in the state. I for one am glad that there is a FFL that can transfer perfectly LEGAL firearms without too much drama!

Your military ID has nothing to do with the the DROS other than to exempt you from the safe handling exemption. Did the shop make a physical copy of it? They should not have.

Just for the record, Turner’s did nothing wrong in this transaction.

No they didn't, they knew better and the law around it.

Here's where Turner's is problematic. Especially during panic buying season. You can get a delay and go undetermined for no other reason than that the DOJ can't keep up with demand.
At least they've let up on the PPT transactions. Personally I still won't use them.
