On a non-joking note not a bad idea to fill out BOF 053 to make sure that the state doesn't think you own things that are no longer in your possession. I happened to find multiple rifles that I have my record from a PPT that they are no longer in my possession but the state still showed as mine.

I have 2. A g17 for uspsa and ccw, and an 18" 223 AR for 2 gun+ long distance.

No safe queens, everything gets run hard. Don't understand guns as a store of value, can't shoot more than 1 at a time.

When I was younger I use to "collect" guns of anything that caught my fancy. As I got older, kids and house, etc I sold just about everything I had. A lot were high end like Wilson Combat, HK, Colt, Benelli, etc. Now I only own a few that serve very specific purposes, all are work horse. Once they no longer fill a function or are replaced by something new I sell or trade them off.

Keeps things manageable.

I'm kind of a minimalist here. I have a Cajunized SP-01 for my 9mm (non-1911/2011), I have a Wojtek Ruger 22/45 with Volquartsen accurizing kit and Tandemkross upgrades, and an Atlas Erebus on order for my first 2011. I will only keep guns I shoot. If I get a CCW license I'll look for an appropriate carry gun, probably a CZ P-01 or similar.

Interesting question. Are you asking how many different calibers of ammo, or how many firearms chambered for a specific caliber?

If it’s firearms, this is a partial list of arms chambered for specific calibers. For example, I have a .22LR that also takes .22Long and .22Short. But that’s not three separate caliber firearms.

I answered, “I know what I spent on my last gun.”

A sign that a person doesn't really have that many is that they can't recall how many they have. However, at some point you get to such a volume of 'inventory' that you start keeping spreadsheet records so you don't forget, and know exactly how many you have at any given moment without any margin of error, and where they are, in which safe they can be found, in which house, in which state.... etc.
