When quoting these numbers keep in mind that many times politicians can control policy, but the impact of the policy on the economy can take many years to come to fruition. It is normally better to look at big impactful events during tenure and the impact on the economy that came after. A good example is that of the Covid shutdowns during Trump's first term, that was way more pronounced in Dem run states like CA, where the numbers before the shutdown were really good.

i think depending on which vertical you assess a good amount of the population is actually already deep in depression era economics. The talking heads are pitching the idea that 4% unemployment is real right now so obviously we can no longer use stats to arrive at reasonable conclusions.
