End of an Era- CZ discontinues the CZ-75B, CZ-75BD, and CZ-75 Compact

Meh. I've had a lot of CZs (75b full size, 75b compact, SP01, TS, 97b). None of them were anything to write home about. They didn't do anything better than a Glock or 1911. Overhyped is an understatement.

Just the lower bore axis makes them do better than glocks or 1911s.

I am wondering if someone will buy rights to produce under that specific name .....

Never even got to hold one. Sounds like some special models will still be made though? I imagine the paradox of their value used rising, but not enough people were buying them new for CZ to make money off it anymore.

You should try.... With care.... You know what they say the first one is free

My first pistol was a 75 Compact, I bought it when I was 20 living in AZ from a biker in a Walmart parking lot. Found it aggressively mediocre and it sat in my safe for years after I bought Glocks/1911s. I would bring it with me for range days with new people but nobody else liked shooting it either lol

Seems like a cool gun for the time but why carry a 75 compact when you can carry a PDP compact, a VP9K, a S&W 2.0, all with red dots

Also CZ-75 compact vs P229 which is better overall?

97b. Well made. Too big for what it is. Same as RAMI.

And I love CZs overall
I guess it depends how big your hands are, it weighs the same as an SP01 (40oz) and the same as a government 1911 but with 10 rounds instead of 7. But the real advantage of the CZs are the ergonomics, the 97 just shoots so nice. The ergos really lock in your grip in a way that a 1911 just doesn't.

I like my 97 but because of a bad right thumb I can't shoot much 45 anymore so I turned it into a 9mm.

I regret not picking up CZs when I had the chance. I did grab a CZ Rami a few years back before they were discontinued.

It was also like 2 and a half pounds loaded and felt like a brick to carry lol. Definitely a lot better options than a 75 compact thats for sure.
