I guess it depends how big your hands are, it weighs the same as an SP01 (40oz) and the same as a government 1911 but with 10 rounds instead of 7. But the real advantage of the CZs are the ergonomics, the 97 just shoots so nice. The ergos really lock in your grip in a way that a 1911 just doesn't.

I am find myself in weird position because I am cz fan..... And here I am finding myself critical of cz products.... Never the less

It is not about weight with cz 97. It is size.. For given size 10 rounds is not sufficient.... On today's market.

And no..... CZ shoot great. But they don't shoot better than 1911

The only reason it had ten rounds was the assault weapon ban in the 1990s. But yes it's outdated, but so is 45 acp in general. a lot of it is personal taste but for me a 1911 grip is too small, on a 75/shadow I like palm swell grips. But a cz and a 1911 weigh the same, have a similar barrel lock up, cz trigger can be just as light and short travel, there's no advantage to a 1911 unless you have petite hands. Czs are more reliable too though

Big woop. The 97b is stuck at 10rds for being the biggest semiauto 45. Huge is an understatement. Even a USP is slimmer than a 97b. Just use 10rd mags in a 1911. If you really want that many rounds. Not a big deal. Nobody is going to try and CCW a heavy bulky ass 97b. The 1911 is a slim easy to carry 45. The 97b really has no advantage. Its quite literally the worst 45 in multiple ways. There are many LE tactical teams using 1911s, HKs, and the Glock 21. Probably not a single agency in the US using the 97b. There isnt a good reason to.

Not for anyone still alive now that there are better options. if you really want to no.one us stopping you but a 1911 is only .1 inches narrower, but a half inch longer and the same weight as a 97b, there's no advantage it's just personal preference. they both make poor carry guns

Ok then how come everybody and their brother makes a 1911 in 45? While CZ stopped making the 97b? You're delusional. The 97b is one of they worst 45s. Literally. Not only are there zero advantages it has multiple disadvantages.

No one's saying you can't like it but it's no longer used in any professional defensive capacity for a number of reasons. I like the round but don't shoot it much anymore. I would choose 45acp over 10mm

It wasn't easy. The 97 was built for the 45 cartridge and no CZ 9mm mags would fit it. I remembered when I was toying with the idea of hearing that small frame Tanfoglio mags would fit in the CZ 75 frame. Well luckily I own a few large frame Tanfos and I slid one in and it fit like a glove. Next was the slide when on and in battery was slightly forward and the hammer did not make contact with the FP. At first I put just a small piece of plastic in the peanut of the barrel and it brought it back to the point of making the slide go where it should be and the hammer would hit the FP. Tested it and it fired so I then put a piece of metal (a screw) in it JB welded it in and fine tuned it by filing it down to a good working point. It now has around 4oo rounds through it with only a few failure to feed problems. It's a fun shooter.

Sorry I didn’t update my picture! The only one I got rid of was the 97B. It was just way too heavy and bulky.

Good deal but now you need one of these. CZ 75b SA with a Tac Sport upper on it. I have done about a half dozen of these this one being my ultimate. Master blue with chrome parts.

Unfortunately the FP retaining pin that CZ uses is not hardened if you would have gotten the hardened one you wouldn't have had that problem. I replace all my 75 FP retaining pins with a hardened one. As for the spring sometimes you just get a bad one.

I don't honestly care enough to look because my point is it's personal preference but you are trying to make definitive statements but they don't apply to me or other people. I personally like how czs shoot especially the 97 and the sp01 and I prefer them over a 1911. I don't however prefer them over a 2011, but the key here is the grip. I like the 2011 grip more than the cz and miles more than a 1911. Beyond that they are very similar and it's just personal preference.

Unfortunately the FP retaining pin that CZ uses is not hardened if you would have gotten the hardened one you wouldn't have had that problem. I replace all my 75 FP retaining pins with a hardened one. As for the spring sometimes you just get a bad one.

Also, you won't ever break that pin if you don't dry fire on it, use a snap cap or an o ring and it will not ever hit the retaining pin. All of the CZ complaints in this thread are just user error lol

I just hit 20k of live rounds on my SP-01. I change the firing pin return spring annually. The firing pin retaining pin can be bought on Amazon for .71cents each. ( they used to be 10 cents bought 100 years ago). I change them out when I remember but also use snap caps. https://a.co/d/063F95On for the link. No need to pay CGW $ 4.99

My biggest issue was caused when I got my slide milled and they didn’t put the front sight pin back, That pin holds the barrel bushing, My barrel bushing went flying,

I bought another barrel , thinking this one had 20k left. Anyone go over 40/50,000 rounds on their CZ75?

Really? I liked it, and my teenage son loved it. I then did 1911 style bushing and SAO conversion. Was such a smooth and flat shooting gun. I did sell it eventually, but not because it wasn’t good . Ammo is pricey, and it wasn’t getting out of safe much

my 1911’s are better in every way and my HK45 has the same round count but fits better and shoots better. Buddy bought it off me, he likes it and it was a quality firearm, just didn’t work for me.
