Depends, some people price their stuff to recoupe but many more don't and you at least save tax. In other cases you get a great deal. When you say it looks like, where and what are you referring to? Prices are typically all over the map when it comes to secondary.

If you use GB the cost would be more with transfer fee + 20%. You can save considerably by using secondary. People cycle through their guns to try the latest guns. Before there used to be a lot of modified guns, but now the inclination is towards OEM with minimal modifications so the higher premiums are harder to get especially with Gucci mods. Functional mods do better.
 
I'm on at least 14-gun forums. When I was actively seeking out iron, I used everyone's marketplace. Every day I would check them out 10 or more times daily. I've missed and gotten good deals by minutes of time stamp. Since my go-to FFL hung up his shingle, I'm not buying as much anymore. He used to charge me $25 bucks for one 4473 and would wait until I had 5 guns on it to process. Never charged for receiving either. That's how you end up with 45 SKSs :sneaky:. Now the cheapest to receive and DROS has been $118 bucks for the first gun. The temporary 1 in 30 fiasco didn't help. I've never used an auction house. PAX
