Well, local private FFL had oneā€¦and I just figured why the hell not. First shield Iā€™ve found esthetically pleasing.

Mine were when new as well. Also, watch the mag release. It was completely my fault, but life got very busy for a couple of weeks and it was hot, so I was sweating a lot. Finally I decided to clean my Shield, and could not get the magazine to drop. The mag release rusted, and was frozen. After getting the gun emptied, and a few whacks with a mallet I got it all apart. That's when I realized it was metal. Needless to say it's constantly wiped down, and cleaned / lubed now. If you don't carry it daily it may never be an issue.

Good to know. itā€™s already been apart with springs getting a light oiling and grease on the metal on metal surfaces.
 
the shield plus is very nice carry piece. got one when I wanted to replace my off duty with something more convenient but not as small as the p365.

Shield is an amazing little gun. I have carried my gen 1 for 5 years now, and it's been the best. About 2 years ago, I had a full apex trigger set and springs installed and made the gun run like butter!
