FT3 - Why All The Negative Reviews?

I've been a shooter in SoCal for a number of years and I've seen many negative comments (other CA forums, Reddit, etc) about the FT3 indoor range in Stanton. But I shot there for the first time a couple weeks ago and found it to be a nice range with efficient counter staff and average rates.

The only real downside I saw was the one hour time limit when they get busy. And that's a bit of a pain, but honestly, who's going to make a day trip of an indoor range?

But after all the negative comments I've read, I'm second guessing my positive experience a little. Is there some massive thing I'm overlooking or did I just have a unicorn experience where it was an easy-going good time? From my lane I couldn't see why everyone is so salty about them.
 
Only been there a handful of times but my visits have always been a positive experience as well.
 
I have shot there for many years. It really depends on who's working. But for the most part, they are pretty cool with me.
 
I have membership there, I personally never have issues. I usually go on weekdays to avoid the crowd, but can make reservations. I never seen problems; if your not a member, they'll handle your gun to make sure its not loaded, if that bugs you, then ft3 is not for you.
 
You’ll only have issues with wait times because it’s such an excellent range. I’ve seen AR pistols there before. Didn't now that was a new thing. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best indoor range in all of Orange County and possibly the entire Southern California basin.
 
Been going to FT3 for over a decade. It's always been a good experience. 1 hour limit Friday-Sunday sucks but given the traffic, it's understandable. I go on weekdays (M-TH) to get the two hours.

Yeah they don't allow AR pistols but I don't really take rifles to indoor ranges unless I need to do a quick zero. No AR pistol policy was a business decision because too many people were shooting upwards and damaging equipment. Lighter and smaller rifle in the hands of new(er) shooters plus friends who don't watch their friends or know how to instruct means shots going into equipment. Before you start judging and saying "I would never let that happen", think about the general public, stupid people you deal with on a daily basis (like dumb drivers), and then put a gun in their hands..

Ever since they implemented the restriction on AR pistols, lanes stopped going out of commission as often and this is better for majority of the people who frequent the range. Been to many indoor ranges from LA down to SD and FT3 is probably the best one. Safety is actually a priority there. Not sure where the hate comes from.
 
I was there today. Been my local spot for the past year. RSO's are always cool, and helpful. I don't run AR pistols so its not an issue for me. Although one time they told me I couldn't get a lane and had to leave. They thought my son's MP5 22lr had short barrel and a silencer. LOL, I said its a barrel shroud! I had to unscrew it and show the barrel length before I got a lane.
 
I haven't been in quite a while, but it was always a good experience other than a possible wait time.

No kidding. :) I have no issue with folks buying and shooting AR-15 pistols all they want, but I can't imagine it being a comfortable experience to be in the next bay of an indoor range when someone is blasting away with one.
