Fusion XP Comp

Yikes, too many scary stories. I have the non-comp'd Fusion XP. I do love the way it feels and shoots, very flat. BUT, like others and apparently lots of people online, I'm having F2F and stovepipes quite frequently. Also, it's ejecting almost straight back and burning my arm. I bought the spring kit and upgraded to the 10lb, I also bought the ported barrel which wouldn't insert until I figured out the barrel link bushing pin was sticking out a tiny bit, just enough to get caught on the slide frame. After 4 emails over like 2 weeks I finally got a reply from Tyler Serva who is the Floor Manager COO Product Development. I answered his questions as to ammo, spring, etc. he determined I needed a warranty kit which includes a replacement extractor. It's on the way so hopefully this will fix it. I really don't want to send it back to the factory if I don't need to. It appears in exchange for a less expensive 2011, you get to be thier beta tester. I wouldn't even mind that deal if they would contact owners when an upgrade or fix was deployed instead of leaving us to struggle through analyzing the issues. 🤦🏼‍♂️
Have you tested the extractor? Remove the barrel and stick a round under the extractor against the breach face. If it doesn't hold at all it's too loose and if it won't fall out with a few shakes it's too tight. You can also look at where the hook is touching on the case, sometimes it's too long and it needs to be filed back because it's touching the case wall and not just the rim. These are all things you would have to check on the new extractor too.

I have one and it’s very nice gun shoots well soft recoil I had one issue with 115g ammo, the slide wouldn’t completely return to battery so I called fusion and they recommended minimum 124 grain ammo

Which worked great. They also recommended buying a set of springs so I had done that as well, and play around with it and see what spring works best!

I shot it with 124 grand ammo worked fine. Then I changed the spring and shot it with 124 grain ammo worked great.

I also tried 115 grain ammo again with the new spring and it worked fine as well!

So conclusion, heavier spring was better if you’re gonna stick with 115 grain ammo,
124 grain is best with stock spring and upgraded heavier spring
Them recommending 124 as a fix is a red flag because it's completely arbitrary how powerful it will be depending on the brand. 115 s&b is way more powerful than blazer 124 for instance. But there isn't enough of a difference between either of them that your gun shouldn't run at all. A slide returning to battery also has zero to do with the ammo power and everything to do with the spring weight, the return stroke is 100% dependent on the spring force. Unless it's short stroking and not loading the spring but that's a whole other issue entirely and more to do with the design

Did they ship it direct to you or an FFL? Those FFL fees for receiving items can rack up VERY quickly if they are constantly sending out parts. I really want an xp comp but I read lots of horror stories. The P211 doesn't do it for me. The Kimber 2k11 doesn't do much for me either as they dont have a full size comp option that isnt that basic silver color. I'm buying this type of gun for competition/range use so I don't want that little 4.25 model. I wish kimber brought the full size black comp model.
Get it cerakoted?

I have the Fusion XP Pro Comp ported. I love this pistol especially for the price (relative to other options). Because I ordered it ported it came from the custom shop and took 78 days to get from the time I ordered it to when I was able to pick it up. The front checkering was a little aggressive so I used an emery board to file it down and used Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black to recolor the grip. The last round seems to stovepipe a lot. I tried Blazer 115 and 124 grain but still malfunctions. Fusion sent me different recoil springs to try and fix it but I haven't gotten to it yet. Shoots flat and accurate. Low recoil. It's a keeper for me.

You should do a review on it where you plank steel with rocks since you never got one. It could really be pretty hilarious.
Trust me, I've thought about many videos to do while waiting to talk trash. Meanwhile they continue to send guns out to their regular shills. If we get to a year and I still have no product in hand the gloves will for sure be off. I've been an Ambassador since February. So far it's mostly been frustration, waiting and a lack of communication. I also keep in contact with a few other "Ambassadors" who have not received any product or communication from Fusion, so it's not just me. Let's hope they have their issues sorted out by the time I get something from them. To be clear, I will still be paying for whatever they send, so it's not like I'm just going to get free stuff, they made that very clear.

LOL then what's the point? they seem ok if you only have 1000 dollars I guess but when we get the M&P steel it will be completely unjustified to spend that on a janky 2011 knockoff.

I agree to a certain degree. Definitely that the M&P Metal Competitor is a better choice. I suppose it all depends on if they will give discounts for demos? As of right now, I have 10% off anything on their sight, including pews. Unfortunately, since so much time has passed, the firearms even with a 10% discount are now more expensive than I could have simply bought one for retail back when I started communication with Fusion late 2025.

Before I bought my SV, the Fusions did spark interest because of their price point and the use of Glock mags, but the grip was absolutely terrible. They have since redesigned the grip and like most folks I have stacks of Glock mags, so that part would be nice. I could go through an entire major match without having to reload a single mag! Hoping they wind up making a Bronze XP Pro with Monoblock, so I could shoot it in LO. We shall see.

What a let down! I'm not a big pistol guy and figure I already have what I need, but I was really considering a Fusion.

It's just not cheap enough, it's turkish wit spotty QC and a bad finish and will cost 75% of the p211 or for a few hundred more there's the kimbers. It should be an 800 dollar gun for what it is.

The base fusion comp is 1500. The full size chunk port kimber is 2300. It's almost a $1,000 difference when you calculate taxes. The xp comps look much more visually appealing to me but yes there seems to be lots of issues.

Yeah but one is good and made in USA. Also consider there are extra SSE fees that show up with the fusion you don't just get it for msrp. In 6 months the kimbers will actually go on sale and not be full MSRP and the cost difference will be negligible. And yet one is Turkish made...

Oh wow I didn't know they also would add SSE fees. I'm going to ask the FFL to see if they do it

It depends on the store sometimes the bake it into the price but other stores they add it on, but either way they are adding a few hundred into what you would get it for outside of ca
