I think it’s a big IF, not a matter of when for 17, 19, 45 Gen 6 to come to CA. we’ve got pretty good intel that 43x and 48 slim lines are coming this summer. But there is a ton of ongoing legal back and forth between the CA DOJ and Glock right now on the Gen V / Gen 6 situation and it doesn’t look promising in the short term.

There is currently no evidence that the Glock 43X, Glock 48 or any Gen 6 model has been submitted for testing.

The rumor was false in hindsight and the person at R66 who originally made the claim on the Glock 2026 thread was based on Glock's intent at the time (Nov 2025).

They are banking on a modified Gen 3 and that's the best short term hope if they are successful.

Bwahaha. Yeah right. Those are only worth the frames. The slides, including the triggers, are junk. I'd rather have a bone stock LE trade-in with holster wear and +5k flawless rounds through it.

huh? wut? You're kidding, right? Do you not know what happens to Glocks on 7/1? If anything, prices would go up, not down. But realistically, people have had since late last year to FOMO overpay for a Glock. And there are plenty of them available. So there probably won't be much of a change.

Apparently, they aren't buying them if you saw them sitting on the shelf. Asking ain't getting. There's dreaming, and then there's reality. Plenty of better options on the roster now that weren't on there before, when Glock was one of the best options. Objectively speaking, the M&P is a superior gun to a Gen 3 Glock. And it just gets better from there with the PDP, VP9, Echelon, and P320.

Was hanging out at my LGS the other day with a couple buddies. An older gentleman comes in to put one on consignment and motions to us to offer it before consignment. He was asking $1,750 for a “never been shot” gen 3 17. We collectively laughed and thought he was kidding. Hopefully things turn around when people realize how insane they sound.

Yes time will tell. I'm not dismissing what was known or planned at the time. I'm only commenting based on the CPRA work by @gorgothmog.

43x and 45 are off roster so creating 1) CLI 2) mag disconnect and 3) satisfying CA DOJ requirement for the trigger mechanism to not be modified w ease. I don't think CA DOJ will budge on 3 (until a regime change happens).

Glock would be better served by repealing AB1127. CA Glock owners will be F-ed when their damaged frame cannot be replaced through normal warranty or repair channels and IMHO should coordinate the legal challenge.

OMGROTFLMFAO!!! Luckily I wasn't drinking anything when I read this (or I'd have made a mess). Anyone who would trade one of the nicest shooting handguns for a bubba'd gen 3 Glock frame (because thats all you got) is "mentally disabled". Unless you have the factory parts that came with those frames, youre going to have offer them at a steep steep discount to make it worth it for someone to restore them to useable factory condition. Sonny boy, you done messed those Glocks up real good.

You don't even realize how you're illustrating my point. Your Gen 3 Glock frames are worth even less. Like a LOT less. If you can find someone to take those abominations off of your hands for $600-$700ea, you should jump on that STAT, before the buyer is ruled mentally incompetent. LOL!

This is indeed a good time if you want to sell your Glocks. I find them to be an excellent platform that is rugged and reliable and I no longer care to explore new stuff. What I have works. However, if that is not you and you want to explore other brands, by all means, sell them. I am a huge fan of the classic SA DA Sigs and they can be had for great prices used. I’ve heard excellent things about Walther pistols. The Beretta 92 FS pistols are excellent. CZ makes really good guns. Figure out what you want and its intended use and decide from there. Plenty of great choices. I’m just old and boring at this point.

I already lived through the REM 700 trigger debacle and am unwilling to buy something that might have issues. The P365 doesn’t seem to have the same issue and you can them in larger sizes now such as the xMarco.

the Kommiefornia model has passed the drop test AND has a safety on it.
the problem with the P365 is that it came out after freedom week, I stocked up on mags during that week on things I did not eve owned at the time.

I agree. But I bet you wouldn't spend north of $600 for a used Gen 3 Glock if you didn't already have one. Certainly not $1000 for a bone stock Gen 3. I got all my Glocks used for $300-$400. But if I didn't have any, I'd go get an M&P 2.0 rather than buy a Glock from a gouger. Gen 3 Glocks are solid and reliable, but so is the M&P.

A fair valuation of a used Gen 3 Glock is 1.5x to 2x what a used Gen 3 Glock was before they were discontinued and banned. So that would be $500-$600. Not the crazy "mentally disabled" prices that people are asking for. It's not like there aren't literally millions of Gen 3 Glocks out there. They aren't rare by any stretch of the imagination. They are a dime a dozen. And people wanting to sell them for more because they work with switches are extra delusional.
