Glock 17 / aftermarket slide and barrel stovepipes

The only reason I can see for an aftermarket slide is if a gun you have is missing the slide and you are trying to save a few dollars. And at that, you are risking it not working in more than one way.

Spend a little more and get factory parts.
I have 2 G19's with aftermarket slides. I bought them solely because A: I didn't want to mill the stock slide B: its cheaper than having it milled and C: i get front end serrations. Both are dead reliable and have no issues. They're both for range competitions and are nearly never carried.

There's a lot of decent aftermarket slides, I would still run an OEM striker though. But also, OP said that the slide was lost in the mail when it was sent out for milling so that's a good reason. The Zev slides are good, there's some other underlying issue with it.

there's some other underlying issue with it.
We have already established in another thread that the factory recoil spring is too strong for a compensated barrel and sometimes when an optic is added.
