Anyone Running (or considering) a G34 Slide on a DR920P? “Budget Glock 34” Using a DR920P Frame?
I’ve been tinkering again. With the Glock 34 discontinued (at least for now), I was curious what would happen if you dropped a G34 slide onto a Shadow Systems DR920P frame. So I tried it.
Setup: Glock 34 slide Shadow Systems DR920P frame Standard recoil setup Nightstick light (not relevant to function, just what was mounted)
Observations:
• Length is very similar to the factory DR920P slide
• You’re trading the compensator for additional barrel length
• Slight velocity bump vs comp setup
• Recoil impulse felt almost identical to a Glock 34
• Maybe slightly snappier, possibly due to the more rigid Shadow Systems frame
• Boringly reliable (no malfunctions)
What surprised me most is that it doesn’t look experimental at all. It actually looks purpose-built. It gives off strong competition vibes, especially with the longer sight radius (if you’re running irons).
Curious what you guys think:
Would you run this? Is it worth it over just finding a complete 34? Competition setup or just range fun?
