Glock - Gen 6 Revealed!

All indicators are there to presume that Gen 6 will be rostered. CA gave Glock an easy out to make some mods to Gen 3 and keep it on the roster, but Glock chose to kill it off instead. It would make no sense for them to have kept a legacy production line open for so many years specifically to serve the CA market and then entirely abandon that market and watch as their competitors swoop up all their CA sales.

I'm cautiously optimistic; if it eventually makes the roster, will try one. If there's a delay til that happens... more time for others to beta test.

As others have pointed out; it seems like Glock studied the aftermarket/custom market and integrated those ideas into their Gen6.

After reviewing the Classic Firearms hands on YT vid; I'm still excited to see a new Glock arrive. Will I be lining up at my LGS for a preorder (if it goes on roster)? Probably not.

Whoever owns the sales territory CA is in is stoked.

Bc 0% chance would that person/people (if multiple territories) want anything to get in the way of blasting banner sales quarters.

The commission would be something special.

Also State of CA will gorge on fees bc it wouldn't take a jr college level analyst to look at DROS to isolate out the low and high earnings.

I mean, Glock knows it's profit margin I imagine. Maybe losing that production line and not having to deal with Sacramento cancels out civvie sales. They still get agency sales. Do we have actual numbers of guns sold in California year over year? Everyone just says "duh, of course it's a ton", but I've never seen actual numbers.

Amazing what a nice stippling job, slide serrations, and an extended beavertail grip do to the aesthetics of a firearm.

Anybody know what MSRP is?
At the end of the TFB YouTube video, they said, pricing will be the same as Gen 5. If Glock makes a CA model, it might be more.

Use round numbers as a proxy for live/verifiable data.

Say 1mil currently registered glocks boil down to 300k owners, multiply that by $700 per Gen6 for a raw sales #.
Multiply that by a round 20% for sales tax + sin tax since we cant see ownership by city/county/etc.
Take the 300k x $50 for DRoS.

I wouldnt start building out refining questions but the #s should be low enough to be a solid bottom of a year's worth of income by type.

I mean, if that number was really good, you'd think they would have "V'd" the Gen 3s as well. But they were eager to dump them. I think they were just waiting on an excuse, cause you know what the shooting community's backlash can be like. Granted, the 6 would have strong sales here you'd think, but maybe not enough to run another production line. Plus, isn't microstamping back? When does that start? You could EASILY dump a whole bunch of money to get your line up on roster, just for California to move the goal posts.

Here are your sales numbers: https://www.desertsun.com/story/new...-gun-sales-gun-owners-per-capita/74371843007/

340,903 of all types in the first four months of 2024 in California. 1,043,402 in all of 2023. In raw numbers, that's second only to Texas. Based on what I see at the range, more than a few of those are Glocks. As someone noted above, it's probably more than they sell in many entire countries.

That's still not actual data on Glock sales. What's their profit per unit? Do we know that?

And it proves that the Glock Group is still well positioned. Apparently, the global armament in light of the war in Ukraine is also likely to boost the Ferlachers’ business. The pistol manufacturer was able to increase sales by almost 55 million euros to 670.32 million euros in 2024, and pre-tax profit rose by 80 million euros to 132.89 million euros.
The bottom line is that Glock achieved an annual operating profit of 102.78 million euros after 39.71 million euros in the 2023 financial year.

Looks good IMO. Like the new grip texture and the optics mounting is finally good. Hoping they get onto the CA roster, would certainly pick one up!

The big change is that during Gen 4 and 5 production they had something to sell in CA, and now having nothing to sell in CA is what gives me hope. I’m not saying I think it’s going to happen, but it’s a major catalyst to possibly make it happen this time.
I thought they're selling the Gen V in CA?

Gen V can't go back on the roster because Gen 5 was never on it to begin with. That's the common interpretation, and one I agree with.
Agreed. Not to mention the V did not eliminate the evil Cruciform Trigger Bar which was specifically called out in the bill. What strikes me is the G6 does not have said Cruciform Trigger Bar
Man, those drawings had me hoping for an FCU. More fool me. Nice frame tho.
If you think about it and FCU would introduce a hornets nest of possible customization, something Glock probably wants to steer clear of at the moment. There's also potential reliability issues that could be raised. Given reliability is one of the top priorities of the Glock base, it makes sense they would stick to the "tride-and-true".
