Are we as users capable of searching the sold listings? To check what pistols actually sold for.

I can understand a premium right now on Glocks based on the current state of market. Some prices are absolutely crazy, but some premium just makes sense.

Make that makes sense with P320s. With all of the controversy, being banned in certain places and with certain agencies, people are selling used ones over original retail? Not significantly under retail?

I feel it is fair if the gun has never been shot or close to new for the seller to get what we know they sell for plus the BS Taxes and Fees here in Kalifornia. So between $650 and 700 would be a fair deal to me. Anything higher they are just trying to win the Lotto.

The average gun owner isn’t up to speed on industry related news, therefore thy are unaware of the controversy with the p320.

Also, when deep diving into the issue, there doesn’t appear to be many reports of Cali compliant models with the same issue. But overall I just think there are better guns than the p320 for that price point.

Something like that could be done with existing data based on asking price, but more data would be needed based on actual sold price. Say a question prompt when marking something as sold.

The market for most ANY item is self regulating. What is over priced to one buyer, is a deal to another. I have 3 VP9s that I paid stupid PPT prices when there were off roster. Same with Springfield XD9s.

If someone is in the market for a Glock and wants it now, they will pay. If they are happy and the seller is happy who are we to say otherwise.

I see this same thread with a slightly different item mentioned in my watch, truck, mustang, and off-road forums.

Agreed. The listing price vs actual sale price makes a huge difference. I mostly just want the sold price data.

I'll bet there's an existing feature that could take all of the "Sold" prices and show those as a button or feature next to the same type of gun.

So, if a CZ P-01 historically sold for a 30-day average of $1,000, we'd see that price somewhere, perhaps optionally. Some sellers might not want that revealed near their listing, but the mods could figure out how to implement that.

One could set the average to different periods, say, 30-day, 60-day, 120-day, with some reasonable cap.

This would help sellers too; as they could better track what a gun like theirs has recently sold for. This may actually result in higher pricing in some cases, added value notwithstanding.

A 30-90 &120-day average would be great. But also, similar to the blue book value on cars. A low medium & high value of a particular pistol.

It's easy to find out what something is worth, pick a price and put it up. If it doesn't doesn't sell you lower the price until it does.

Yeah, but sometimes you list something for sale and its sells within 2hrs. That means the price was too low. It would be helpful to figure out a fair average price before posting an item for sale.

I was just thinking the same thing. How long it takes to sell would make a huge difference.
However, you have to take price point into consideration. For instance, a pistol at $1500 vs a pistol at $4000. There will be far less buyers that can afford a $4000 pistol vs a $1500 pistol.

So, most likely a $4000 pistol will take longer to sell even if it's at a great price.

I've never had that problem. It really shouldn't require statistics, just think about how much you paid and what you think it's worth to others and add a bit of negotiating room. Average price doesn't actually matter, it matters if you can sell it. There's too many factors.
