For a CCW slimline pistol, which do you prefer / have better experiences with?

Glock 43X or S&W Shield (Shield Plus, Shield X)...
 
Shield by a lot. Soft shooting for the size, better trigger than Glock by a lot and much better ergonomics and actually has grip on it. My favorite is the plus because it has a longer reach.
 
I carry the Shield Plus so I'm a little biased. 😁
The P365 has some incredible grip modules available so be sure to put your hands on a few of those as well before you decide.

I'm sure it's an isolated instance, but there's a video of one floating around where the mag disconnect failed. Sig has a bad enough track record, I could never recommend one.

it wasn't the mag disconnect it was the trigger return spring which is a common failure point on the p365

I think it's been the trigger return spring. I thought it's been addressed and fixed at this point. Apparently not.

Shield Plus.

I bought a P320 X5 Legion to play around with and I'm seriously impressed.
I can make any one of my Smiths fail if I wanted to.
It's ok if you don't like them, but why post it here? Dude's just looking for options. I think you should shoot a p365 xmacro and then tell me if you don't fall in love. 🙂
 
Have and carried both. (43x & shield 9)
this is how I see it with how i have mine set up.
glock pro: no thumb safety, better grip texture
glock con: bulkier
shield pro: slimmer, has dot
shield con: thumb safety, slippery grip.
 
I have the G43X on my CCW permit. Great shooter easy to conceal and I have a XL slide for it as well as needed. No experience with the Shield. For reference I also have the p365X on my permit. Smaller and a bit easier to conceal. Both in a Black Arch Proto M holsters.

I think both would make great CCW guns.

I'm shot all the polymer Sigs. They weren't compelling enough to buy any of them. I replaced all my Glocks with Smiths and I have no regrets.

Sounds like a shield 1.0. The 2.0 and plus have significantly better grip. Almost like sandpaper. Also incredible trigger

correct! the plus is on the list to get before march when I renew my permit.
Just bought a bodyguard 2.0 which has good grip texture for a lil guy. figured it will be the summer shorts carry.

Shield plus and it’s not even close. I’d get that if I didn’t already have a shield 1.0 with optic cut. I’d get a Walther PPS over a g43

Hah! Same! Once I shot an m&p 2.0 I sold all of my Glocks. 😁
