Glock plus Ruger = Gruger? Grock? Just kidding

I have my own version of the Gruger and I find it to be an excellent alternative to the Glock. This is a Grit Grips lower (better ergos than Glock) and an RXM upper (better optic mount solition and stock iron sights than Glock). It has yet to choke on any ammo I’ve fed it and seems as accurate as my G19.3. And it cost me less than a new Glock to build it. Total winner.

I bought the complete RXM upper and put it on my Gen 3 G19 frame, thinking I'd like to try an optic. It's very nicely made, fit snug but cycled smooth, functioned perfect, and for me was more accurate than the factory 19 slide/barrel originally on the gun. It also uses a standard rifled barrel vs the Glock barrel. I decided against the optic idea, so I put the original upper back on the gun. The RXM upper is in the "For Sale" section if anyone is interested.

I’d rather have the ruger frame than the Glock frame and don’t care about slide cuts.

If someone imports a ruger and only wants the slide, I’d buy the frame.

The RXM is fully Glock gen3 compatible.
The only parts on the Ruger that would not fit on a Glock would be the frame and the FCU.
I believe that every other Glock part will fit/work in the Ruger as well as how every other Ruger part will fit and work in a Glock Gen3.

The RXM is a great deal compared to a glock.
Magpul makes the grip frame which feels better than a glock for most people,
Ruger makes the FCU and all the other steel parts.
The slides are ALL optics ready.
The guns come with steel sights from the factory.
The FCU allows changing grip frame colors/sizes as Magpul releases more options.

The RXM is basically what everyone hopes Glock Gen6 will be.

There’s like 1 part that doesn’t work quite right (it’s a little different somehow) and FRTs require extra work but other than that the RXM is a straiggt

Range Report: So, about 12 or 13, 10 round mags through the Glock 19 with the Ruger RXM slide. Remington 115 grain FMJ factory ammo.

at 7 Yards, Glock 19 with the Ruger RXM slide, shoots around 2" low; 2" below point of aim. This repeated when putting the factory Glock barrel into the Ruger RXM slide; Same results in terms of point of aim and point of impact.

Grouping/accuracy was very similar between the RXM slide and barrel and the RXM slide with the Glock factory barrel. No noticeable differences in accuracy or grouping. Very satisfactorygrouping/accuracy.

The interesting "thing" that occurred was with the RXM slide/barrel, the slide locked back 3 times with the last round still in the magazine. Glock factory 10 round mag; they were not failures to feed and it was not jammed. It just didn't "sense" the last round was in the magazine and the slide locked back as through the magazine was empty.

That did not repeat that with the Glock factory barrel in the RXM slide; but I did not shoot as many rounds/magazines through that combination, so that is not really a good comparison.

Here in a few weeks I"ll go put 500 or more rounds through it in a single session and get a little better feel for how it performs, and will shoot some different bullet weights and types through it to see if that changes the POA/POI.
