I’m not sure what a surplus store is. But SoCAL Gun has for decades been the shop with the largest selection of firearms in San Diego.

Are you looking for anything in particular?

Back when I lived in San Diego (10+ years) ago, there was G.I. Joes in Oceanside (north of SD), and Rosebud Army & Navy Surplus (not sure if they exist anymore). There's also Bargain Center, which is great if you're looking for .30/.50 cal cans and random uniforms.

Place has been there forever. Good stock, well organized, friendly staff. El Cajon, Ca

GI Joe's in Oceanside. It has all sorts of stuff. It's across the street from the California Surf museum, worth seeing. Walk down to the pier and the Top Gun house is on the left. Angelos has great char burgers. Or go down to the harbor for sea food.
