Grip Tape?

I bought Goon tape to try it out and it was okay. I liked it enough to look for a cheaper alternative and was told to try hockey tape. It’s very similar to goon tape but losses its tackiness pretty quick. However I noticed when my palms are sweaty it’s tacky again.
I made a post where I made palm swells from bar tape under the hockey tape.

These are what I use personally on all my firearms. Gets a little sticky when it's hot, but it's easy to remove and reapply. Can't recommend this product enough.

What type of grip tape do you guys use?

I've used Talon pre-cuts, and way back when I used some Howie's Hockey Tape but didn't like the residue it left.

Anything you'd recommend?

Handle it grips. Love it.

I have these combat textiles grips on a couple of my s&w’s and so far I like them. They still work good when your hands get sweaty and can also help if the texture on the grip is too aggressive. They come in a variety of color options as well. Easy installation.

I got these for my HK, and I like a very aggressive grip. I shoot carbide grips in USPSA production with my Glock. More grip the better, but these felt slick to me. They look cool and are cut perfectly for the firearm.

Combat textiles is the company, ordered from their website. There’s another company called ranger wraps that is very similar. They are cordura and not very aggressive like some of the grip tape you can get. I like them for my baby deerskin accountant hands lol. But like Diabolus said, they are not at all aggressive and if you want a lot of texture, these are not it.

I've always used the handle it rubberized grips and have absolutely no complaints. Excellent fit, good tactile grip and very comfortable

I was in the same boat as OP, especially after shooting my Canik Prime for a short range session. Being of advanced age therefor thinner skinned my palms were getting irritated. Checked posts here and decided to try this, Lizard Skins DSP Ultra Bat Grip, Kona Camo, from Amazon, not cheap. Had another shoot with the Canik and am really pleased. Don't be concerned the face mask is not related to the Cartel that is the Portuguese flag . Why this picture all other devices left at ranch by mistake had to use desk top camera.

I use and prefer Talon grips in the granulate finish on my Glocks. With the M&P, I'm using it all stock and no chalk and the texture is aggressive enough for performance shooting.

I like using hockey tape to bulk up grips, and I like the feel of the coarse sandpaper style or skateboard grip tape. I was considering bulking the grip of a Shield X I just got with the hockey tape, and then wrapping some talon granulate grip on top of it. Has anyone tried this and do you guys think it would stay put?
