Gun pulled on my son

I was awakened early this morning with a phone call from my son which was odd since he works today. He told me he stopped by his barber at 5:30a this morning to get his haircut before work. He backed his car into the space in front of the barber and had a few minutes before he arrived. While he was sitting there a younger male was riding a bike behind his car and a long side the building and finally disappeared. Just as my son started to look at his phone, a male with a very heavy Spanish accent wearing all dark clothing, a hoodie and a scarf as a mask walked up and knocked on his window talking in such broken Spanish my son told him he couldn't understand him and didn't know what he wanted. He then reached into his waistband and produced a gun and pointed it at my son. By this time my son suspected that something wasn't right and put his car in drive and released the Ebrake. He ducked down and immediately punched the gas and drove a safe distance away and called 911. The police arrived in approx 90secs. He's still waiting to here if the suspect was apprehended. I was relieved that my son was okay. It could have turned out WAAAY worse.

Damn sorry to hear that. But your son showed very good response to situation and damn fast thinking and action. How many people would react the way your son did. You raised him good and deep down you’ve gotta be very proud and relieved, of course.

I've converted every single family/friend that I know to develop this habit. It boggles my mind that there are some places in America that actually ban it and hate it.

Relieved couldn't even describe the emotions I had when I knew he was ok. Because of my law enforcement background I always tried to stress to him that your brain and communication skills could be the best weapon at your disposal. AND most importantly, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. When someone is caught off guard always works out best for the bad guys.

Waiting for the, “If it were me I would of pulled out my bazzooka that I appendix carry, but wouldn’t have to use it because I would disarm him so fast hand to hand anyways…”
