Sad, but oh so true. I have seen this play out with many friends and family. I have had my own epiphany that the material world is liquid as a result. Easy come, easy go.Things get bad enough, catastrophic health or financial wipeout, and you will sell anything.
Same case here, my 1st is springfield 1911a1, nothing fancy, but the first thing I did to it is custom slide cut by my own design, and engraved it with my signature, so I won't ever sell it. Gosh it has been 10yrs nowI have a rule I hold myself to which is, "never sell your first gun". That first gun is a Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded in God's caliber. Since then, I have expanded my collection to many more 1911s which hold more monetary or historical value than the humble Loaded. Those 1911s are often chosen when I go to the range and want to shoot some .45; but, I will never sell my Loaded because I know I'll immediately regret it. You never get another 'first' gun.
I think I'll take it out next time I go to the range.
