The real deciding factor is a torture test. Perhaps if you get a chance and you feel like burning through some ammo next time you're at the range you can put some rounds through both firearms and see if that harbor freight light holds up to the recoil. We all know streamlight will. Thanks for making that video

Appreciate the thought! Since I buy all my own stuff other than a few Nightstick lights, one holster and one optic for the channel, torture test isn't my gig.

Maybe if I make it big and folks are sending me stuff free all the time, but that's not something I'm really looking for either. It's just a hobby for me and I post up stuff that I think will bring value.
 
I'd like you to include a actual lumens test in your videos using an integrating sphere and a lux meter. They are relatively easy to make, and I did one for my kid's 8th grade science fair project. We bought a bunch of flashlights off of Amazon and tested advertised vs actual output. I'd like to see that in your videos, because lumens are often falsely advertised, and perceived brightness is also significantly affected by the reflector cone, texture, and coating.

Send me the details on that, if it's easy to make and not expensive that's a great idea. As you can see, many lights that should be significantly brighter are not and vice versa
 
By the way, my kid won 1st place at the science fair. We discovered pretty much any amazon flashlight claiming 1,000 + lumens was a lie (by a huge margin), and only the expensive brands such as Pelican and Streamlight put out the lumens as advertised. I ended up using a Pelican light as the control.

Another interesting fact to test for is lumen output over time. I found that the cheap flashlights might start out with a high lumen output only to degrade significantly as the flashlight stayed on. With some it was hard to get a average reading as the numbers kept dropping so fast. Supposedly with Li-ion batteries you are supposed to get a consistent output, but I suspect the circuitry played a factor as well. Anyway, something to think about.
