I figured I’d post up a sister thread to buying a gun you really wanted that let you down.

A few years ago I shot my brothers gen three G17 and I was fairly impressed with it, so I figured I’d double down and just pick myself up a new 34. Love it outta the box. Great trigger, good larger/higher sights than my G19, and I dig the larger slide release. It’s just so damn easy and fun to shoot.

I’m going to start bear hunting this year, and I’ve been even happier with my new Glock 20C. Although the grip is significantly larger than Glock 9mm guns due to the larger 10mm double stack design, the ported barrel makes the recoil feel like I’m shooting and G17. I’d prefer the trigger to be about a pound or two lighter like my G34, and I definitely want to install the extended slide release and an extended magazine release (because I only have medium sized hands), but this is still a fantastic hand cannon outta the box. It’ll be even better after I throw a few hundred bucks into making it more comfortable.

Ever thought of changing the connector on the 20c to a minus connector (4.5lb) since that is what the g34 uses? Or you could go aftermarket for connectors if you wanted to play around with those; such as ghost.

This handgun Glock stuff is new to me, even though I wanted to 19 for a few years. I never did any modifications to it. But I’m looking to mod the two newer ones. Actually just got the 10mm a few weeks ago, and shot it for the first time yesterday

It’s an easy mod for that one, and since it’s a factory part, it would technically be approved by a certified Glock armorer, from what I understand. You are only changing that part with the orange circle where it is also a lubrication point.

Stock connector for non-competition models are 5.5lb connector. It’s more of hard wall and break; compared to the mushy soft roll like the G34.

My son bought a Scar 17, which seemed absurdly priced to me but he has always wanted one as he played a lot of games when he was younger. After I tried it I was really impressed. Lightweight, low recoil and a beautiful gun!

Not purchased. But I rented a Bersa M2XI and it was my first time shooting a 2011 style pistol. I came from budget striker-fire guns to a budget 2011 style gun lol. Needless to say it exceeded my expectations for the price and I'm just waiting on Bersa to figure out the SSE thing here so people can start buying them.

Wasn't on my radar until Turners dropped the price to clear them out. I was thinking about a semi-auto DA first shot pistol to take on moto trips instead of my 6 shot revolver and saw the HK P2000 on clearance.

The trigger shape and trigger pull didn't feel good and before even firing it I odered a flat trigger. That was awful and was a waste of money so I reinstalled the stock trigger.

First range trip, stock trigger, it's one of the most accurate 9mm I ever fired. Followup shots are a slower due to the reset, but accuracy is impressive even from the first DA trigger pull. I'm keeping this pistol and selling a few of my other pistols because I like this one so much I won't need the others.

I don't care about my other 9mm's anymore or my travel revolver.

No. I did my research first so I knew what I was getting.

The fun factor did vary. I truly love shooting my Henry 357. Puts a smile on my face everytime.

Another one for me is an older wood-stock beat up 80s model Remington 870 in twelve gauge. I picked it up a few years ago for $250.

The thing is a tank, and has never failed me out bird hunting and clay shooting, even with poorly reloaded shells.

G41 gen4. The gun I didnt know i always wanted. So damn comfortable to shoot. The only downside is I end up blowing through so much 45 acp with that thing.
