Hellcat Pro trigger upgrade

Just took my Hellcat Pro to the range this weekend. It is a fine little gun, definitely a bit snappy compared to my G17. I can deal with the increased snappiness, as it is not too bad.

However the trigger pinches my finger and really made it unpleasant to shoot after a few mags. When I shot one at the range I only did a few mags, as I wanted my daughter to test it more. After about 50 or so rounds I could really feel it. tried to adjust my trigger finger, but it still ends up getting me. This made it hard to really focus on figuring out a solid grip on this skinny pistol or enjoying sending some rounds downrange.

The trigger itself is not gritty or too heavy, measures about 5.5lb on my scale. For a new striker it is not too bad. Reset , take up and break is ok, not as good as my Glocks, but decent enough for this class of pistol. It is just the pinch that sucks.

I ended up ordering an Apex trigger. Hopefully that addresses the pinch and even improves the overall trigger action.

Anybody else have the trigger pinch issue?

I added the Apex Tactical Action Enhancement trigger as well but have not experienced a trigger pinch before or after the mod.

I did experience a bit of pinch or bite from what I presume is the gas pedal that I added, but not sure if I just need to readjust my grip or try it without the gas pedal.

I took would get a bite/pinch while shooting my hellcat after 100+ rounds the trigger because very unpleasant. For those of you that replaced the trigger how difficult was it? Was it worth replacing the trigger? I've heard mixed answers whether or not it was worth replacing it

Depends on which trigger you get - a lot of people seem to recommend the Apex Tactical trigger which gives is chamfered corners and a relatively flat surface. If going with the Apex route - you will definitely need a vise to press in the pin. I tried using the old punch and block method and it wasn't forgiving.

Definitely not as easy as your drop in triggers for other guns, but not that difficult with the proper equipment.

Hey everyone
Has anyone tried the hyve trigger system the monarch?
I get the pinch as well after couple of mags

Get, Apex
when you do the swap follow the youtube video AND follow the website (apex) for CA model to do an additional step

Just installed the Apex trigger. The shoe feels better and I hope it resolves the finger pinch, it does seem like it will doing dry firing.

The trigger feels a little smoother and the break a little more crisp. It still has some creep before it breaks. The reset also feels a bit better and shorter. It now breaks at around 4 lb 5 oz vs the stock 5.5 lbs.

The install is a PITA, especially pushing the trigger pin back in as the stupid CA law mag disconnect creates spring tension n the trigger forcing you to push the trigger back and down while trying to push the pin in. For others it may just be better to remove the mag disconnect before worrying about the trigger. One thing is for sure that Glocks are much simpler and easier to work on.

Will see after a range trip, but the trigger is an improvement over stock. Though I'm not 100% sure I would have swapped the trigger if it wasn't for the finger pinch, a few hundred rounds down range and stock trigger may ease up and you get used to it. Though the Apex trigger kit is not crazy expensive.

Went to the range today. The Apex trigger still resulted in trigger bite, but after 3x the rounds. I adjusted my trigger finger position, which did seem to help. I will just have to be very careful with finger placement to avoid trigger bite.

The Apex trigger kit does break and feel better on the trigger. Funny thing is that I got my daughter a Hellcat at the same time as mine. We were both at the range today, she tried my setup and didn’t care for the Apex trigger kit. She preferred the stock trigger, and she also doesn’t get trigger bite. Guess hand size and finger thickness makes a big difference.

This Hellcat Pro will probably see limited range time, while it is a bit snappy and the trigger is uncomfortable for, I am able to shoot it very accurately and fast. The sights are a lot easier to use compared to standard Glock sights. It does require a very firm grip to reduce the snappy feel, kinda like my PPK. Neither are pistols I will be able to shoot all day long.

i bought a hellcat off roster a couple years ago and sold it after one range session... did not like the trigger or snappiness at all. the P365 won that battle
