How Does 2A Zone Work?

Can someone explain to me how I’m able to purchase an off roster pistol from 2AZone. How does single shot work and what does that mean? Am I allowed to convert it back to its normal function after purchase? Lastly, is Orange County CCW allowing this for a ccw on your license?

2A Zone is a manufacturer (FFL07 license). Therefore they can manufacture pistols/handguns to be single-shot exempt. This makes them off roster. You essentially get a bolt action pistol (dont quote me on this part). 2A Zone is then selling you a complete SSE pistol. What you do after that is on you.

Making the firearm semi-auto after purchase is considered gray area. Doing this depends on your risk tolerance.

I don't know about OC allowing SSE pistols for CCW.

If you have more questions, call them. They are one of the best shops if not the best in Cali. Better to get straight from the horses mount instead of rando's on the internet 😉

Just do it! You won’t be disappointed in any of the pistols 2A zone offers this service on.

One suggestion is once you take ownership, you could then pawn it for a small amount. Upon redemption your pistol will be re-DROS to you as semi auto in the caliber that it is in. At that point, no reason you shouldn’t be able to get it on your CCW

When you do it that way, it comes as .22 and most counties wont allow that for a CCW... you'll have to put it for consignment or trade it back and forth to get around all the mud. This trick seems to be only for new 2011 style guns, those are usually too big for CCW anyways imo, I'd just find a P365 or something like that and just use the others for range fun

Gunfighter Tactical in San Diego used to do this for AR Pistols. They were forced to move though by their landlord and essentially just became a smithing and cerakote shop. Really good guys though.

They are gone gone now, moved to the east coast. It was a great shop

That used to be my goto shop since I'm down in San Diego, so when I came to Upland to do my FFL03 with you guys, I got all nostalgic. Wish we had something like GFT in SD still. I didn't know what happened to them after the smithing thing shut down, I know Morgan (their gunsmith) is working somewhere local and Lee went off to do his training thing, I didn't know Ryan landed somewhere else - that's good to hear.

I have no clue how the latest SSE thing works, I just know if it can be done, 2A Zone can do it.
