It's pretty normal. I doubt a shop would do this if it weren't legal, though it's a legal loophole (which is still legal). You should be fine. You can always just ask the gun shop.

I will ask in person...I've seen a couple so far that actually state that's what they do regarding SSE's (couple of them are here on this forum). Thanks Wolkenflieger!
