Noticed something new today. Was selling P-10c (wanted to add to my CCW, but IA has a new rule roster only). FFL asked me how did I get this gun in a first place. Was it exempt purchase, PPT or gift? Supposedly new rule

I also had that happen during a recent PPT sale. Caught me off guard a little bit, though it was straight forward enough to answer. Did another PPT a few days later at a different FFL and the question didn’t come up. I swear nobody ever seems to have a good handle on the most up to date requirements.

Hey so I have an exposed firearm permit im pretty new to all the firearm stuff i see a lot of off-roster guns on here how do you guy go about owning them legally and can i have fun with them at the range?

Still not sure if this is a CADOJ agent or what… you went through 56+ hours of the permit training at a minimum and don’t know “how to have fun at the range”?

You can buy a “used” off-roster gun in person from either your LGS or through a PPT. You cannot buy one online - any FFL who doesn’t want to get popped will reject any off-roster delivery.

Depending on what you want, be prepared to pay through the nose.

these are kinda dumb questions TBH. Take a mag lock and LCI out of of ANY gun you purchase that is on the roster and it has to be PPT'd as an off roster gun.

Go through process to get hired by local law enforcement. Go to academy and graduate. As soon as you graduate and have credentials go buy every f’n off roster gun you want while on training/probation. So maybe one to two months on training,to buy three to six guns and tons of mags then quit.

Cheaper than PPT and you’re making gun money while you’re there and not even worried about making it off training/probation

Has to be a recent lock purchase with receipt, less than 30 days old, otherwise this requirement would be a no-brainer for any of us with new locks sitting around from past purchases.
