I was accused of lowballing on marketplace by lying on Bass pro offer. Did I do wrong?

I'm not clear on how far you took it but after being accused of lying, I just wouldn't have wanted to buy anything from that person anyway even if he did agree to the price. The price I'd be willing to pay just went way down in anticipation of having to deal with them.

But he also probably feels the same way about you too...so.

Worth having the discussion. I took the names out but think its good to have a healthy debate since "lowballing" gets thrown around a lot.
It's seems a little ridiculous to have back and forths about whats fair or not. Make an offer it's yes, no or this is the least I'll take.
But it goes both ways I have sold items and get accused of trying to rip someone off. I'm like fine don't buy it and somene else will. They are acting like they are doing the forum a favor and saving the world. Don't understand why people get so butt hurt when an offer is rejected. Too much drama.

Already got a few on ignore...LOL Have a nice weekend!!

This reminds me of a time I admittedly tried to do something frowned upon over at calguns. I posted something at a high price expecting people to negotiate. Probably higher than necessary. Someone then made a lowball offer, I gave one of my standard polite but to the point responses that was basically “sorry if that’s all I can get for it I’ll just keep it”. He threw a fit about how an off roster version wasn’t that different from a roster version and some other whiny 💩. Even if I agreed with him on that point, I’d automatically just not sell to him after that. It’s not exactly the same as OP since you used proof and the numbers are the numbers, but off roster vs roster could matter more to one person than another so it’s more of an opinion. I decided to troll and offered to trade my off roster for his off roster that he was asking way too much for but I knew was worth more than mine. Then blocked him.

So the point of all that was he might be trolling you lol.

I wouldn't have responded had I received a long detailed "this is why you should sell it to me for my price" message. I would have laughed and closed the page.

Wait... what? I thought I heard someone talking, but there's no one there.

🙉🙊🐵
Come on man, please just listen to this; I got an offer you can't refuse!
I can explain why it's fair!!
😋 :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: 🤗🙃🙃

Ok, OK.... I'll stop ruthlessly abusing my right to endless corny "DAD" jokes......😂🤣😂
Take care of yourself!

Lol OP prepared a whole argument about the price with links and ish.

What that says to me as someone with over 150 FTF Firearm transactions is this guy is going to be a pain in the arse.

It’s just how it is.
Unfortunately & no offense to OP, I do agree with this.
People that go to that kind of effort are usually kind of a pain......

BUT..... I still think that the fact OP even created this thread says he's very likely NOT one of "those guys."

😇

I get lowballed all the time. It's just the nature of selling stuff. If I'm flexible on the price, I'll let them know but if the offer is not acceptable to me, then I just politely decline.

I was trying to negotiate a price

I offered for $1500 for everything. Seller says $1800 is reasonable. I gave a calculation based on similar item on bass pro (unit in cent per round) to justify my offer:

And as this is a large quantity, there is no reason to go above what big box store charges.

As many of you know bass pro regularly runs a promotion for CLUB card members, which usually happens either M or Tu every week or other week unless there is a larger sale events.

Seller accused me that I am lying on the offer (which he says only 5% on ammo) and the sale have not happened during past one and half month.

Well, the sale does happen regularly and they do apply on ammos. Proof of an example order I had:

And there is information of the sales everywhere. Examples

I don't know why the seller keep insisting I am lying and trying to lowball. Welp, this is internet.
Time is money. There's no point in justifying your offer. Even if it was over market value, the seller still has to agree. Perhaps just move on and save your effort. :)

If I'm a seller and someone offers me a price I don't like, I reply quick and easy; no thanks.

If I'm a buyer and make an offer they don't accept, whether or not they consider it a low-ball offer, OK. I'm looking for a deal, not trying to help a buyer recoup their money.

Simple as that. Don't get caught up in trying to convince others why their ask is too high or dealing with low-ball offers; never works out.

I price my stuff out all fair and lower than most sellers on platform to avoid people low balling me.

And if they still lowball me, I just won't respond and keep that option in the back.

Sold a stoeger double barrel coach gun with about $60 retail in slugs and buckshots for $320.

First message on here was asking if I can drop price lower. Seriously people, try and find a cheaper one anywhere in USA before attempting to buy something cheap for even cheaper.

First message on Calguns was to buy without price drop.

(I did give 1st dibs to the person who asked about lower price, who happen to flake on the day we were supposed to meet with no replies to my texts, so ended up selling to the Calguns guy who happened to have been the 1st guy's friend lol.)

Don't like the offer...ignore and move on. This forum and OG Cal Guns are the land of Low Ballers. Let them do what they will. They must be poor. If you get butt hurt easily are you a DemoCrap?

Sellers should keep these 2 things in mind:
"It's only worth what someone will pay."
"A good deal is when both parties are happy"

Would you get butt hurt if I deleted this comment? People voted for us not to edit, so deletion is the only option. The number 1 rule here is to respect other users. We also have a policy of no political or religious stuff or butt stuff for that matter.

If you want to use all that kinda lingo not for here, Calguns allows it. Take this as a warning. This isn’t Calguns. We have simple rules to support the 2A community. Not free speech.

This community is about respect, not feelings, if you don’t have respect then none will be given this goes both ways. You're not the only person. I’ve had to warn folks picking on your choice too. When both sides are unhappy about politics here, I think the community is happy. People can bicker elsewhere.

I don’t mind you calling us poors though… You’re not wrong there.
