A note on why more of the site now requires an account: automated scrapers and AI systems have been crawling our forums and classifieds at a scale. Requiring sign-in for those sections is the most effective tool we have. It takes a minute to register, it's free, and it keeps what happens here between actual members.

"Infraction" - but no ability to know what was said to be so terrible?

I enabled a feature ...

We'll see if this is effective at curbing drama...

Seem fair?
I think you're being far too nice. The same characters will cause friction over and over, and I don't think it's likely they'll learn. In my opinion, start temporary or permanent bans much earlier.

That’s a last resort. Until then I think it’s a good challenge to see how we can leverage different tools and sop’s to build additional guardrails while we’re still growing.

These situations test us at different angles and is a good exercise for our new moderator staff. The discussion with members and mods is beneficial to learn how to address these problems.

If we maintain a standard here, then I think we’ll make progress towards building a larger community. Finding that standard is gonna be some work. The best case is if we can get these strong personalities to coexist and help us build instead of directed towards each other.

I’d rather not ban if it’s not necessary but we will develop our processes on how to handle these situations and ban if need be.

I think that when someone is banned, the post that caused the ban should be copy/pasted into the notification to the offender so that they can know why they were banned. Otherwise they won’t have a clue as to why they were banned. And some sort of link for them to respond to a mod if necessary should also be provided.
