Internet gun transfer fee

The dros is for the paperwork right? Which I already pay. This is simply a fee to punish buyers for getting discounts. In this particular case you can see I bought the gun from a charity as well so there was already a donation made. This was just another donation to the gun store owner who is probably well off
I think you have a weird way of looking at the world. It's good you bought from a charity, but it seems like you are soap boxing and put a lot of stock into thinking that you are superior for doing so. I.e. Not wanting to pay for a service your render.
If you are shopping at a grocery store, and you donate $10 to saint Judes, do you then argue with the cashier that you shouldn't have to pay the standard mark up on a sale item because you already gave money to a charity?

Also, a 20% tip for a 360 dollar gun ironically comes out to $72, very close to the $75 dollars you are complaining about for a FFL In Transfer fee.

So do you tip 20%?

So do you tip 20%?
Not who you’re replying to but I tip 20%.

Also, no one cares if you donate to a charity. If you buy a gun and then ship to an FFL, you’re going to pay transfer fees. No one is going to process your transfer for free because it’s a lot of work for nothing in return. If you don’t want to pay for a service, then don’t buy the product.

You're coping. Look, If you buy a gun from anywhere online, then send it to a local gun store, unless that gun store charges you an FFL transfer fee, they would literally lose money providing a service to you, a service that YOU chose to have them provide to you. As another member said, shops cannot charge more than $10 for a DROS processing fee, that means a $37.19 that CA steals, and you want the LGS to spend 30-45 minutes standing with answering side questions and asking to see other guns, while the boss man pays him CA minimum wage, THEN on pick up day 10 days later do the exact same thing while you ask MORE questions, just for the store to only make $10 dollars?

I guaranteed if you would have just asked the LGS to buy this gun, you would have probably paid less. If donating to charity is something you like to do, then good on you. But donating to charity in exchange for a product, and then pretending like you deserve different treatment is not very honest.

For all the overhead costs that Cali LGS's have to deal with, $100 is pretty reasonable, especially when you factoring in wages, record keeping and all the other bulls*** fees and taxes cali imposing on the dealers. Be happy with your $75 transfer fee and keep it moving.

Just so everyone reading this is on the same page, $37.19 is a dros fee collected by California DOJ, a maximum of $10 may be charged by the FFL as a DROS processing fee, for a max total of $47.19 for a DROS.

Most LGS will charge $7.81 as a processing fee to make it a clean $45 for the total dros charge.

So should shops charge you for coming in and talking to them too? Look up California crime victim coalition, I didn’t buy this gun because I wanted it I bought it because this organization sells them through my work and to other citizens. I’m still paying dros, doesn’t this cover the guns they sell? It’s not like I pay dros and talking fee to them.

I dont think you understand DROS fees or how Storefront FFLs conduct business.

No company in ANY type of business market charges a "talking fee". Stop coming up with stupid arguments and go educate yourself.

Wow you are very emotional on your defending of the bourgeoisie. Are you a gun shop owner?

Wouldn’t they take a cash donation instead of buying a gun you don’t want?

negative, not a shop owner of any type of business. I'm just a reasonable person. I'm sorry that you think I'm "emotional" for explaining things in clear detail to you, just for you to come up with make believe ideas such as "talking fees" to try and validate your ignorance.

Take a look in the mirror next time the word emotional is part of your vocabulary. Everything has been explained to you in precise and well mannered detail by myself and other forum members, yet you keep coping and coming up with irrational excuses. seriously, give it a rest my guy

This guy clearly has some pride or ego issues and is simply ignoring every bit of knowledge we are sharing. So there is no more need to entertain his ignorance.

You know this conversation shed light on an interesting thought.

Since CA DOJ takes specific steps to slow down the act of PPT’s with monthly restrictions, 10 day holds, and all this sort. Could it also be true that they write into law that FFL’s only have permission to charge $10 dollars to disincentivize PPT transactions for FFL’s? If every PPT is essentially a loss financially.

See this starts to make sense to me. Like someone else said some charge so much to just disincentivize the action all together.

I have no desire to donate to them. This thread is all about you, remember?
It’s not about me it’s about us the gun collective but your so busy focusing on business tactics you forgot that the whole point of getting into the gun business is to get guns in the hands of American citizens.

They aren’t going to be in business if they only exist to process transactions for free for people who buy from online dealers.
