Parts, separate the upper and lower. My dad wants to send me a AR pistol. Can he send it to me fully or does he need to send it in parts?
Thanks. Does he have to send the upper to an ffl or can he send that directly to me?Parts, separate the upper and lower.
He can send the upper, the lower however should be taken to a ffl and transferred properly.Thanks. Does he have to send the upper to an ffl or can he send that directly to me?
Barrels are now supposed to go through an FFL.
Have him install a compmag or some other current California mag locking device and send the whole thing to an FFL that you've arranged with. They will let you know what else to send (gift letter, parent ID, etc...).
Make sure to coordinate with the FFL beforehand and find out what all they want to have included with the firearm. Ask 10 different ffls and you'll get 10 different answers, look a few threads over for example.
SB704When did that happen? How do you transfer an item without a serial number?
7/1/27 don't push it sooner than it supposed toSB704
1/1/26 Barrel sales and transfers must go through an FFL. No background check required.
7/1/26 FFLs will be required to do background checks for barrel transfers/sales
Doesn't make sense to me either
He writes a letter saying it's a gift, saying what his relationship is to you. FFL will ultimately determine what the letter needs to sayAlso, what docs do I need to show proof of relation? How do I prove he's my dad? Lol
