Is it me or does it seem the S&W Shield family doesn’t get the love it deserves?

I love the m&p series of pistols. it was my first polymer gun as i hated glocks. When the shield came out i naturally picked one up the day it came out. Loved the feel of it as it just felt like a shrunken m&p with familiar ergos. I am not a compact pistol kinda guy. But i was surprised at how well i shot this thing. I would say a lot of people bought them cause i see a ton of used for sale now that all the new carry pistols have hit the roster recently. I knew 7 people that bought one with the annual rebate after trying mine. The off roster non safety version was well discussed on calguns back in the day. I think they just fell off the popularity charts cause its old. still shoots great. just doesn't hold many rounds like the new 9s.

Great summary!!

I’ve always liked the M&Ps from 1.0, to 1.0 CORE, and now 2.0. Cool pistols.

I have a 1.0 Shield and a few of the new compact 9’s. Shield still works fine for me. The new compact 9’s are also good.

Can’t say I hate Glocks though, haha!!

That was younger me back then.. I only had 1911s and stupidly large calibers back then, didn't want a "plastic" gun. Zero practically. haha.. I have since grown up and grown tolerant of glocks as i aged. It was the grip texture and finger grooves than anything. My friend ground off his finger grooves and stippled his g19gen3 and i really liked it. the M&P just felt better so i went with that. Had a friend buy the OG XD and that thing made me sick to look at. LOL. 11/10 boxy. So its always been m&p from then on

I was considering the shield x as a future CCW (shield x carry comp hopefully if they ever release it in CA), seems like everyone has a 365 macro for CCW. what do people like about the macro over the shield x? I have shot the macro AXG and really liked it but Sig is gay and I’d rather not buy from them. Have not shot the shield x yet

Sig makes some of the best firearms of all time.

I recently picked up a gen 2 shield in 45 acp. Really cheap and great pistol. Put 150 rounds through it last week. I know 45 is not as popular as it once was but I like it. Accurate pistol about the perfect size for CCW but still easier to use effectively than the 1.8” J frame I usually carry.
