It finally happened - Biofire Smart Gun (On Roster as of 2/4)

like most 🍌 innovations they wont need the market to fund it, they'll just use 💩 like USAID or state level pork to fund their pet projects. Or they'll have somebody like Blackrock (so obscenely wealthy and tied into the FED that they don't actually need to worry about profit) to fund it
Internet says Peter Thiel (Republican) is the primary sponsor for this.

I'll ask what everyone is afraid to, does it take Glock mags?

LOL, Seriously doubt that company sells enough of them to stay in business. Im sure they arent cheap. And rife with problems. Funny how their marketing campaign includes two, not one, but two Navy SEALs shooting it. Haha. Ok. Like hey everybody we got Navy SEALS over here shooting our gun. You can probably find anyone to shoot anything if you pay them enough. Not like the US military or LE is issuing them.

If they are serious about selling them, they should market to the military and LE. Thats why Glock is so popular among civilians, they took over the LE market first. Something tells me that strategy isnt going to work for them.

All they need to do is sell a single one. At that point the rooster licks in the California legislature and their DOJ baboons will have declared that the technology not only exists, but will have been successful in the marketplace. That will justify to them that all future handguns be similar. And the black robed rapists in the 9th will back them up with endless delays to uphold it all after taking effect. All the more reason that the Roster needs to be defeated, if that ever happens.
We will see.

This is the only correct take. DOJ will use this as an excuse to further crush our natural human rights to keep and bear arms. The 9th circus has given them carte blanche to do whatever the hell they want and a Democrat supermajority in the State Government will fast track anything they wish into law.

Possibly. But they will eventually go out of business and then there's a fairly strong case to be made that the technology is not successful in the marketplace.

Unfortunately that's not the case. The DOJ still thinks that microstamping is commercially viable just based off of a single prototype. Failure to sell a product will not be enough.

Since when has any “fairly strong case” ever chilled the State’s desire and actions to continue to enact, enforce, and defend blatant unconstitutional acts of 👨🏻‍🎨m?…Thirty-five years later we are still living under the weight of Roberti-Roos, and the initial version has only been beefed up. Meanwhile the Eunuchs of SCOTUS have fully supported the radical 9th by their refusal to take any meaningful action.
I see this whole Roster business as no different. Make no mistake about it, this latest foray into “technology meets stupidity” has nothing to do with safety or making a better product; it is purely another avenue into the further destruction of 2A rights.

preaching to the choir.

Imagine picking it up when you hear a bump in the middle of the night and it announces a new patch update is being downloaded 😂

Can’t remember if I said it here or over at CalGuns, but at a $1500 msrp, I’m hoping this thing is an abysmal failure.

Please, for the love of God; do not buy this elctronic, "Hi-Point", crap!

I’m sure I’ll get flamed for this, but to all the Hi-Point haters, have you ever actually shot one?

A lifetime ago I had one of their 45 handguns, and put close to a thousand rounds through it. It was a decent reliable gun as long as I cleaned it every 2-3 boxes, and it had an awesome trigger. Stupid accurate at 20-30 feet. Also, the cheaper heavy slide metal really cut down down on recoil for a 45.

It is by far the gun I most regret letting go.

my build is about $2100.00 pretax … will post a review

EA will probably buy it and try to microtransaction all of California. $40 season passes or $3 per mag release unlock (individual reload)

I did it was crap. Had two Hi-Point 9's. No malfunctions but that isn't exactly a high bar to meet these days if you stay away from freedom group abominations or 1911s. Never had any of my hammer fired Sigs, any of my Glocks, or any of my S&W M&Ps once have a malfunction in 13 years.

Not to thread drift (too much at least), but I believe that the references to zero malfunctions in Hi-Point examples was in regards to reliability of a simple mechanism that doesn’t rely on some electronic “smart technology” as does the Biofire Smart Gun. We keep a Hi-Point pistol in our reference collection for educational purposes, and I must certainly agree that it in no way exhibits the quality of workmanship as does your examples. Reliable? Absolutely yes, just as much as our Glocks, etc. given an equal round count of 1K, considering its price at the time.
Had Hi-Point pistols been around during the filming of the old “Planet of the Apes” series, I think those would have been used during filming. 🤣

Mine weren't reliable, both had FTF's. But hey I admit it's possible I got lemons. I don't expect solid QC from a company making 💩 that cheap. What made me laugh about that previous dudes post was saying they were stupid accurate at 20' - like ok lol
