Kimber 2K11 California Updates?

hello ya’ll. when available, is it better to preorder a kimber 2k11 on a bigger licensed shop like turners or a smaller local licensed retailer (ex Discount gunmart etc) which one you thank has more faster stocks ratio and delaer to consumer hands turnover and also other reasons. Thank you in advance

Whichever store has them in stock/pre-order and just can't sell them yet until they get the greenlight. I know places like 2A Zone has them in store and just need to get the word they're okay to start DROSing.

That or where you can get the best price.

In San Diego, DGM always seems to get things slower. They even told me as much when I wanted some new things and I have a range membership there so I try to buy from there when I can. Turner's will likely get them faster, you just need to be strategic of which one you go to because some locations are much busier than others. In OC I've seen smaller shops get their hands on inventory seemingly faster even if it's just a couple. Long story longer, just talk to the guys at the counter or call in to get an idea of their inventory

Slight (ok, major haha!!) thread jack…I went to DGM for the first time a week or so ago. They had a used 45acp magazine for the Beretta Mini Cougar at an unbelievable price. So low I thought for sure it was mislabeled.

I walk in and the place was total chaos, haha!! People and guns everywhere. No one available to help or check you in. It was a wild scene.

The only thing that saved the trip was a) it WAS a Cougar mag and b) they had several boxes of CCI 22 *Short* Target, which hasn’t been in-stock for a long while. I bought all they had, haha!!

Question: Is it always like that??

The one on Morena is pretty insane at all times. The workers try, but they seem consistently understaffed for the amount of foot traffic they get. They also have a decent amount of bays for their range so if you're there near the top of the hour, it gets worse with people checking out/in. Because of that, I tend to avoid this location unless someone wants to meet there for a PPT or if I'm doing the CCW renewal class (if you're there on one of their various class days it somehow gets even busier). I prefer their smaller location in Santee. Not as many lanes, so sometimes tougher to find a reservation, but typically much more mellow and I like most of the crew at that location.

It was Morena.

The range angle makes sense. I don’t go to indoor ranges and there were a bunch of folks checking in/out for that, along with the usual gun store traffic.

Then…horrors!! I had to submit to an ammo background check, haha!! I’ve never done one of those before (always mail order with 03/COE). What a giant PITA, haha!!

I'm hoping you get your $ back and a new barrel for those botched ports.

thank you for this helpful info. inwould agree with you sir. d is closest to me so i asked but i dont mind driving a bit farther for a kimber thatll get to me faster. Thank you and keep safe cheer!

saw them today at 2A zone, they look nice but that 10 rd mag was an instant turn off.
I picked up plenty of "standard" capacity mags for other guns during freedom week, P320 CZ's Beretta glocks but nothing that would fit the Kimber .
gun did look nice, a bit too fat around the grip , the platypus feels better on my girlie hands.

I only check the roster every day, like 5 times, not looking forward to these at all
Haha!!

So f-ing tired of seeing Shark Coast Customs and the constant reminder that I jumped the gun (ha!) on my black KelTec P15 when the ODG was going to be available, haha!!

Well, at least those aren't terribly expensive. If Kimber does this, then makes a full length dust cover version in 5" for example I'd be pissed, lol.
