I was at Fine Firearms in La Mesa today and they had a used Rossi Mares Leg .357 Pistol with large loop lever for I believe $750 if I'm remembering right. This one has a very smooth action.

Always wanted one, but I'm shrinking my collection to a few well used guns and barely talked myself out of this.

Just putting it out there as these do not come up for sale much and at a such a reasonable price.

Last time I seen a Rossi ranch hand in .44 mag on consignment, they wanted $1k. But I think it was never fired though.

From what I’ve seen, listing/asking price for actual Henry Mares leg (gold) in the magnum calibers; are usually higher.
 
That’s a nice price if it’s in decent shape. I’ve got one in 44 mag. Super cool pistol. If you want one, go get it. As the OP said, not a common find.

I recently picked up a Henry Bear’s Leg in 45-70. I haven’t shot it yet. Should be fun, haha!!

Yeah, solid finish, wood is in very good shape. Doesn't look like it was used much. Was surprised they listed it so low.

Usually the .357 magnum version is more desired compared to the .44 magnum version; since most people would tend to shoot it more
