Looking for places to shoot, Sac to Bay

As the title says, Im looking for places to shoot. I cant stand Yolo any longer, their RSO’s are clowns and it is always crowded. I live in Vacaville but would be fine with driving a ways.

I enjoy Spenceville but that is a hell of a drive and far too small/crowded most days (especially weekends).

If anyone could suggest ranges that allow more than 1 shot every 2 seconds and RSO’s that dont interject complete nonsense Id appreciate it! Preferably legit spots on BLM land, or if anyone has private land/ranges I would be more than happy to pay for the use.

Specific locations for BLM greatly appreciated!

Sunnyvale R&G club is one of the best I have ever been to but that is a huge drive for you.
It's a private club but open to the public on Saturdays & Tuesdays, they provide free paper targets of all styles along with steel targets at 100 yards on the centerfire range, pistol and rimfire they also have the steel, they also provide free spotting scopes.
Never seen anyone get called out for snap firing unless they were noobs, the RSO's are all members and are there because it's part of being a member, nestled on the Eastern side of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

There’s Lincoln Rifle Club (Dillman Outdoor Range). Not quite as far as Spenceville. They do cash only, $20. Been there a few times and liked it. You can shoot out to 200 yards.

Lincoln is a great range its got everything you could want steel targets at pistol, 100yds and 300yds. Its really easy to set up a target at 300yds right behind your 100 yard target so you dont have to move to another bench. The RSOs are very attentive. OP might not like it if he doesnt like RSOs. I dont mind an extra aggressive RSO, they run off the yahoos.

That’s cool they have 300 yards. Did not know that. Last time there I shot at 200. I like that they have sand bags you can use, free of charge. Yes, the RSO are very attentive but they leave you alone long as you follow the rules.

You're right, the 200 is behind the 100yd line. Theres a very narrow 300yd line right in the middle between rifle and pistol.

I dont have an issue with RSO’s other than when they interject with poor or blatantly wrong “advice” and try to puff their chest out as some authority.

Been to YSA for years. Yeah one of the RSOs is a bit of a loudmouth. You should have seen him 12 years ago. Hes mellowed out some. But honestly, the only guys Ive ever seen that had any issues with the RSO at YSA, were clowns that shouldnt be there. Not saying you are the issue. But Ive never had an issue with any RSO at any range. There was an RSO at the now permanently closed Pacific Rod and Gun Club in SF that was a certified FUDD. Decades ago when all I had was a 20" Mossberg 590, he told me to never come back with that gun because it was too scary looking and they dont want guns like that there. It was weird. I wasnt butthurt, I was just confused. I didnt know what a FUDD was. I learned about FUDDs that day.

United Sportsman is nice but they dont allow rapid fire. I have not been to Richmond R&G yet.

Its far, but Los Altos Rod And Gun Club will let you rapid fire and everyone there is pretty cool. Its my range of choice. The only thing I don't like is that the rifle lanes are static 100, 50 yards. So If you are sighting in a rifle on the 50, you have to pack up and move to the 100 when you are done.

I think Sacramento Gun Range is good, they are also very friendly to non-member shooters, which is where I go most of the time. If you like outdoor shooting ranges, you can go to Sacramento Valley Shooting Center, which has everything you need and is reasonably priced.

I got called out a few years ago saying to slow my fire down shooting my bolt action Enfield lol, sorry Spike they are safety 's there now.
Rim fire they don't seem to care but on the other courses it's different, also another negative is they no longer allow using plastic milk containers filled with water as targets on the 100 yard range.

Says so right on the website. This is new, maybe the past 6-8 months.

Sunnyvale pre-Wuhan was a good range for non-members. The old timer control freak members took over and f*cked it badly. It's clear they don't want the general public of responsible gun folks. I would not recommend at all.
