My 1911/2011s after 2k rounds full strip wash everything until clean scrub barrel change recoil / firing pin springs lube. shoot. In between that lube top end. P330 max. Same program striker reset, striker spring. Recoil spring same spring as a 1911 gets changed lube top end when it looks dry.

I have a 1911 that has gone 2k rounds without a cleaning. I just added a bit of oil. No issues. That particular 1911 has had a rough life, I don't clean it very often. It now has close to 6k through it no issues at all. My RIA has been extremely extremely reliable.

Comp guns get cleaned every 500 rounds. All other guns gets annual cleanings. Gun cleaning

I would add that CCW pistols get cleaned every week. I carry appendix and the gun gets fouled with dust and lint quickly , especially the sights and ejection port. Just a quick wipe down and lube.
I used to compulsively clean every gun after every range trip. 1911 and 2011’s were fully disassembled. It was very time consuming. I was training 1-2 days per week and shot 500-700 rounds per session. Now I only shoot 200 rounds per session and clean after 300-400 rounds. I just do a simple field strip. I wipe everything down and clean the chamber and the crown. I use FMJ bullets only and no longer clean the inside of my barrels. About every 5000-7000 rounds I do a complete disassembly. It works for me and I spend more time doing other things.
I clean after trips to the range. Quick wipe down, oil on the rails, that's about it. After listening to this podcast Shoot2Hunt, episode FF.15 on May 24, 2024, it gave an interesting perspective on barrel cleaning (and the many pros of leaving it dirty).

After every range trip. CCW pieces, once a month I'll put a drop of oil on rails and friction points, wipe them down and clean off any lint. I used to oil or at least wipe down the guns in my safe pretty religously for fear of rust, but ever since getting one of those golden rod dehumidifier contraptions, I've gotten lazy about it.
