Let me know otherwise, but I read that you can also gift hour weapon of choice to a direct family member, mother, father, brother, sister is this true? If so and if trusted you could sell it in a round about way ! Providing that you have any immediate family still in this fukn state.

There is a specific law that protects the direct up-down bloodline transfers.
It's called an "operation of law - Intra-Familial" transfer in the CA DROS system.

It's direct bloodline so father-son or mother-son or father-daughter or mother-daughter.
It does not work for brothers, uncles, sisters, aunts or some dude you call your brother because you are such good friends.

The transfers are still done at an FFL and can cross state lines.
So if your father in a free state wants to gift you an off-roster firearm, he needs to send it to your chosen FFL along with his state ID card and a letter stating that it's a gift for his son/daughter.

I was aware that it had to go through the FFL and it couldn't be uncle's, but wasn't aware it couldn't transfer between brother and sister. Thanks for that extra verification.

Most dealers are sold out. Are they unable to obtain new inventory that they can sell by 7/1 and to LE after 7/1?

Has Glock stopped production of Gen 3's?

Some Glocks still pop in at distributors here and there...., dont forget its not just Glocks

That is not true.

Dealers can aquire after 1/1/26 but they need to sell/transfer before 7/1/26
The 12/31/25 aquire date in the law is in regards to dealers being able to sell stock after 7/1/26 IF the acquired it before 2026.

Looking back, I probably should have sold my CA guns before I left the state. But just wondering if it's still possible to sell them to CA residents? I don't have my CA license anymore as of this month so I would assume I would have to do it via FFL Transfer. Tried searching but got mixed results. Anyone familiar with this situation?

The gun I'm looking to sell is a glock 19 gen 3. None of the stores in my state were interested in buying it and I've only ever sold previous guns on calguns.

Welcome to free America! Good luck trying to find a store that will buy a gen 3 glock. Those things don't move well and end up gathering dust.

PPT's are exempt anytime regardless of generation

It amazes me FFL's so stupid they literally can't read ready more that 3 lines of penal code.

(a) Except as provided in subdivision (c), commencing on July 1, 2026, a firearms dealer licensed pursuant to Sections 26700 to 26920, shall not sell, offer for sale, exchange, give, transfer, or deliver any semiautomatic machinegun-convertible pistol, as defined in Section 16885.
(b) (1) A violation of subdivision (a) shall be punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000).
(2) A second violation of subdivision (a) shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000) and may result in the suspension or revocation of the dealer’s license issued under Sections 26700 to 26920, inclusive, and removal of the firearms dealer from any centralized list maintained by the Department of Justice pursuant to Sections 26715, 28450, and 29060.
(3) A third violation of subdivision (a) is a misdemeanor and shall result in the revocation of the dealer’s license issued under Sections 26700 to 26920, inclusive, and removal of the firearms dealer from any centralized list maintained by the Department pursuant to Sections 26715, 28450, and 29060.
(c) This section shall not apply to any of the following:
(1) A machinegun-convertible pistol delivered to a firearms dealer prior to January 1, 2026.
(2) The sale of a machinegun-convertible pistol to any of the following entities for lawful use in the discharge of their official duties:
(A) A police department, sheriff’s office, probation department, marshal’s office, district attorney’s office, the California Highway Patrol, the Department of Justice, the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
(B) Any state agency listed in paragraph (6) or paragraph (7) of subdivision (b) of Section 32000.
(C) The military or naval forces of this state or of the United States.
(3) A private party to private party transaction conducted through a licensed firearms dealer pursuant to Chapter 5 (commencing with Section 28050).
(4) A transfer of a machinegun-convertible pistol to a gunsmith or other qualified entity for service or repair.
(5) The sale or transfer of a machinegun-convertible pistol to a firearms dealer licensed pursuant to Sections 26700 to 26920, inclusive, or to federally licensed firearms manufacturers or dealers outside California.
(6) A transfer of a machinegun-convertible pistol back to a private party after temporary safekeeping storage pursuant to Section 26892.
(7) A transfer of a machinegun-convertible pistol back to a private party after a period of temporary prohibition pursuant to Section 29830.
(8) A transfer of a machinegun-convertible pistol to any forensic laboratory or forensic laboratory employee, while on duty and acting within the scope and course of employment.
(9) The sale of a machinegun-convertible pistol to an individual who is an active peace officer described in Section 830.1 or a reserve peace officer described in Section 830.6 who is employed or appointed by a law enforcement agency described in Section 830.1 and is authorized to carry a firearm on duty.

This penal code is very clear;
#1 If a dealer had the inventory before 1/1/26 they can sell it even after 7/1/26
#2 If the dealer receives the inventory after 1/1/26 or later they must deliver it before 7/1/26

Tell your dealer they are retarded. The only mention of the 1/1/26 date is in the exemptions for sale/delivery after the 7/1/26 date with PPT's and LEO sales, ect.
