I had this happen not too long ago, i was able to tap it loose with a set of small flathead screw drivers similar to what you would use for eye glasses. Tap it in the opposite direction that you were going. Have a strong magnet from home depot on standby if you can .Hi,
I have a T10 screw that is screwed on to the point where it broke my bit while trying to unscrew it. This came from the factory (thanks, Ruger) like this and it's the last screw I would like to remove.
This screw is located on the rear sight just under the ghost ring.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm located in SF, hopefully someone close by will have better tools or skills to help me tackle this T10 screw.
Interesting, I looked it up and at first glance it reminded me of the Russian WWII Type PPsh-41 machine pistol. The Ruger PC Carbine. Specifically model 19117.
Heat guns are way too slow and end up heating up everything because they take so long to heat a specific spot that the heat travels all through the part you are heating.Everyone had all these great tips about how to resolve the issue I posted about. I wanted to thank you guys by showing you that I did the complete opposite. Lol. Not by choice but by sear ignorance, lack of patience, lack of preparation, and lack of knowledge.
To anyone facing this issue in the future, please do your due diligence. I got lucky and everything worked out, you might not be so lucky.
