New glock “V” model, gen6, CA MOS leaked on GSSF prize list?

But what about people in states that dont require CLI and MDM? Just give them a gun with CLI and MDM and standard cap mags? So your saying Glock should just make all their guns with CLIs and MDMs as standard? By that line of thinking Glock might as well only make 10rd mags too.
yes, many guns run a mag disconnect as standard for a long time like the browning hi power. But it's easily removed. It's more of a personal preference item like an external safety vs something that is inherently negative like low capacity magazines

Ok but what about the CLI with the warning label? Make that standard too? Youre saying Glock should only make guns that comply with CA's crazy laws. For everyone in every state. What about military and LE? They dont get a choice? CA anti-2A politicians decide what their procurement requirements are? Thats assinine.

The 10 round models is already a restricted state model so it has no relation to military or LE or non restricted state versions. The cli can be as simple as the existing "not a cli" that the Glock ejector already has but painted red on top and maybe made a tiny bit larger. The main reason why you want this is it will make it cheaper here. So it's in your best interest.

Sorry. You lost me dude. Have no idea what you are trying to get at. Rather than make things simple seems like you are making it more complicated than it needs to be.

Glock is most likely going to make "standard" models with no CLI or MDM. And CA models with the CLI and MDM. 10rd states will probably just get standard models with 10rd mags. These will all have their own SKUs. Its as simple as that. No need to make it more complicated than it has to be.

what Im saying is if all restricted state models were also CA roster approved there would be price competition, more stock and easier access. the LCI and mag disconnect isn't something that only sells here, it was a thing before we required it and for some dumb reason people choose them.

But why wouldnt Glock just sell standard models with 10rd mags to restricted states? Youre making it more complicated.

2 skus is less than three. It's less complicated.

So force restricted states to have CA compliant guns with CLI, warning label and MDM just to have less SKUs for CA consumers? Thats goofy as hell. I mean if youre obsessed with having the least number of SKUs for some weird illogical reason devoid of any marketing sense, then just make CA models period for everyone and ram CA requirements up everyones backside. It just doesn't make sense.

I feel like you disagree with what I'm saying ;)

The LCI has to meet specific requirements if it is to pass the DOJ testing:

11 CA ADC § 4060
Official California Code of Regulations
...
(d)(1) A functioning chamber load indicator must meet all of the following conditions:
(A) Explanatory text and/or graphics either incorporated within the chamber load indicator or adjacent to the chamber load indicator is/are permanently displayed by engraving, stamping, etching, molding, casting, or other means of permanent marking.
(B) Each letter of explanatory text must have a minimum height of 1/16 inch.
(C) The explanatory text and/or graphics shall be of a distinct visual contrast to that of the firearm.
(D) The “loaded” indication, that portion of the chamber load indicator that visually indicates there is a round in the chamber, shall be of a distinct color contrast to the firearm.
(E) Only when there is a round in the chamber, the “loaded” indication is visible on the firearm from a distance of at least twenty-four inches. When there is no round in the chamber, the “loaded” indication must not be visible.
(F) The text and/or graphics and the “loaded” indication together inform a reasonably foreseeable adult user of the pistol, that a round is in the chamber, without requiring the user to refer to a user's manual or any other resource other than the pistol itself.

I heard a rumor of Glock doing this to consolidate to only 2 generations - Gen V, and new coming Gen 6. Instead of producing gen 3, gen 4, gen 5, and gen 6.

How did the P365 get away with that tiny little LCI?

Putting the required text on the top of the slide would have helped a lot:

(B) Each letter of explanatory text must have a minimum height of 1/16 inch.

I don’t know much about other states’ laws that have mag restrictions, but if there also isn’t a roster requirement or any laws stopping from FFL to FFL transfer of a non MDM/CLI gun, I’d pay the transfer fees to have the un molested version.

There is a law it's called the roster unfortunately

I think I need to edit that for clarity. I meant if I was in another state outside of CA that still had mag restrictions but no roster, and they were selling MDM/LCI versions.
Gotcha. It just really seems like a non issue except the writing identifying the lci is ugly. Mag disconnects are easy to remove. I think people just don't like being told what to do more than anything but you will often find that government steps in where private industry refuses to. These features get popularized by gun safety groups because they find examples where it would have saved lives. They aren't wrong, it is safer. The majority of gun owners aren't really enthusiasts, they often buy a glock 19 and 100 hollow points and shoot 50 and put it in the night stand and never practice. It's safer for those people that don't clear a gun by instinct when they pick it up. But I want my ccw to go off even if the mag falls out. I've had plenty of matches where my mag accidentally falls out, it's common. So I take it out. As long as it's easy to take out like on the M&Ps I don't see the issue. But of course there's the slippery slope argument where next they will make it illegal to take it out...

This change has been in the works for years, not days or months... So Gen 6, you all have been wanting for years, is here, but yet you think it’s not an upgrade without any facts or, for that matter, none of you have even seen or shot these firearms but hate it and complain about it already.. Kinda wild.
