Announcement New Mandatory Field - FFL Transfer Required

I've been working on the site to try and get things more aligned and polished. We've gradually been rolling things out in between answering questions
and made good progress in many different areas.

We've updated the flows to include mandatory acknowledgements in the major categories: Firearms, Ammo, and Barrels & Complete uppers. Moving forward all newly created listings will be required to acknowledge. All listings will phase out after 90 days and expire if they aren't updated.

I appreciate everyones patience while we're working to address some concerns and fix some inconsistencies that will help us be around for the long haul.
  • Added: Two new sections with one required.
  • Bug Fix: Editing now redirects to the full page instead of the overlay (addressing previous user feedback).
  • New Fields: Added a mandatory field where required, plus an optional 'Preferred FFL' suggestion field.
  • Feature: Added a 'Find an FFL' link connecting to our FFL reviews to help with discovery.
  • Payments: New payment system for upgrades
  • Bug Fix: Dead spots in certain parts of the site, lose scrolling up/down ability.

New Mandatory field

This will happen when you edit or if you don't check the box...

You will now see the Preferred FFL in the ad details

Fixed:

a bug where the save button/bar would show up in the middle of the screen. You just get kicked out to the edit page now.

This should no longer be an issue.

site seems fine to me kudos to you and all the mods. Best wishes as always

Is there a way to make this a mandatory "yes" for posts with barrels or complete uppers? May help solve your problem with liability on those posts, and we could bring them back to the classifieds. I know nothing about moderating though so this could be an impossible thing lol

This is the framework I’m building for that to make everything kosher. Give me some time and it’ll be back. This was the solution but I have to put in a new category.

Fortunately we just got our payment processor up and running again. I’m still doing clean up there, but hang in there.

Does there need to be an option for " No FFL Transfer Required " field? For items for sale that don't require an FFL transfer like optics, red dots & weapon lights.

Doesn’t apply to the parts and accessories category, optional in wtb and trade. It’s required based on category. Firearms, ammo and then next barrels and complete uppers

Issue: The links for SB-704 and AB-1263 are incorrect links and have to do with the following;

SB-704 Coastal resources: California Coastal Act of 1976: industrial developments: oil and gas developments: refineries: petrochemical facilities: offshore wind.
(2023-2024)

and

AB-1263 Vehicles: Bureau of Automotive Repair: smog check program.

Here's the correct links.

Btw, you’ve been awarded the bug bounty badge for finding and helping to fix it.

I think from a liability standpoint it’s better to have it be a required field, and make the user check the box acknowledging that they understand the ffl is required. If Ikeo were to default check the box, people could claim they didn’t know. The way it’s set up now is a CYA for the site as the person listing the item has both been informed and has acknowledged they will use an FFL which protects the site from any accusation it was used to facilitate illegal transactions

Yes, this is the current setup, for the reason you mention.

We help try to update people who might not know anything or current state.
