Announcement New Mandatory Field - FFL Transfer Required

I've been working on the site to try and get things more aligned and polished. We've gradually been rolling things out in between answering questions
and made good progress in many different areas.

We've updated the flows to include mandatory acknowledgements in the major categories: Firearms, Ammo, and Barrels & Complete uppers. Moving forward all newly created listings will be required to acknowledge. All listings will phase out after 90 days and expire if they aren't updated.

I appreciate everyones patience while we're working to address some concerns and fix some inconsistencies that will help us be around for the long haul.
  • Added: Two new sections with one required.
  • Bug Fix: Editing now redirects to the full page instead of the overlay (addressing previous user feedback).
  • New Fields: Added a mandatory field where required, plus an optional 'Preferred FFL' suggestion field.
  • Feature: Added a 'Find an FFL' link connecting to our FFL reviews to help with discovery.
  • Payments: New payment system for upgrades
  • Bug Fix: Dead spots in certain parts of the site, lose scrolling up/down ability.

This will happen when you edit or if you don't check the box...

You will now see the Preferred FFL in the ad details

Fixed:

a bug where the save button/bar would show up in the middle of the screen. You just get kicked out to the edit page now.

This should no longer be an issue.

Also you should add a tip button everytime you close an ad or make it sold. Totally would be an easy way to leave a dollar.
There is a tip button but it’s not super clear I think I’ll do that and make it an actual button now that I can work with the system more now.

Thanks for the suggestion..

Legend.

But seriously, what tip button are we referencing? Can we get a screenshot?

If you click that it goes to the upgrade page, but I should probably make it simpler. Made that one a long time ago

Now is a good time too since we got rid of the Calguns’s verification.

Legit question...

The way 1263 seems to read, it applies only to people actively engaging in firearms as a "business". That would seem to exclude the ocaisional private sale of a used or new unused part?

I know that AB1263 has all the "businesses" knickers in a knot, pretty much making it next to impossible to get anything gun related (which also seems to be an overreach beyond what the actual bill states? Ambiguity no doubt INTENDED to infringe), but private party transactions don't fit the language of the bill, and it's fair to take advantage of what appears to be a "loophole" in a badly written piece of legislation...

So has anyone run this by an actual 2A attorney?

Specifically Section 3273.50. As used in this title, the following definitions apply:
...
(f) “Firearm industry member” shall mean a person, firm, corporation, company, partnership, society, joint stock company, or any other entity or association engaged in the manufacture, distribution, importation, marketing, wholesale sale, or retail sale of firearm-related products.

I would not consider myself or any other private individual to be a "firearm industry member" under that specific definition...

You would not personally but our interpretation is the site is an industry member so we have to take reasonable measures since you are here.

This is why we have a lot of required checkboxes where you acknowledge you read and accept responsibility. We also include updates in big banners for you to read.

I’ve run it by CRPA when I had him here. Unfortunately, it’s something for interpretation until it gets tested.

To clarify. It is a call to action which I love, but reading that. I would have never known it was a hyperlink. I would have gone from there and looked for the donation tab.

Yeah @ikeo1 i would make just “supporting us!” a blue hyperlink color and underline it so people know it’s a link
Thanks for the tip.. 😉

I’ll update it to a button later.

Part of my job is managing a mobile app for a large company so I am immersed in this CX/UX stuff constantly. Most of it is common sense honestly, but as an owner/single man show it’s nearly impossible to keep track of everything so you need use feedback to optimize things… crowdsource that labor my dude!
