New Member Question on WTS Listing

Hi all, I recently joined CGN on advice from a friend as I’m looking to sell a few things to make room for new stuff. I’ve listed my items and had a number of views but no messages or anything. I don’t believe my post is unclear or priced unreasonably but wondering if this isn’t the best forum for hunting rifles. Most of what I see are tactical rifles and pistols. Is there another place I should list those? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

It's possible that in your area people aren't seeking those specific rifles. Also possible that were broke lol. There's a pistol at my LGS on consignment that I really want, but can't justify the spend right now.

OP, I think it's a combo of luck of the draw (who happens to be looking at the time your listing goes live) and the trends in the firearms world right now.

There's just more interest in 'tactical' or 'precision' vs hunting. Also, I've been noticing that there's a bit of a 'Trump Slump' happening again. You see retail prices heading down all over the place. That, in turn, drives down interest and prices in the secondary market.

I don't know what area you're in, but have you considered listing on GunBroker yourself or using a third-party service? @ebrworks does consignments, as does Mt McCoy Auctions in Simi Valley. They take a cut, of course, but you get national exposure and a built-in customer base. I've used both and the experience was super-easy.

Appreciate the replies. I’m in Sacramento trying to sell an elk rifle so I understand the market might be thinner as well as the trump thing. I’ll check out some of the other options mentioned. Thanks!

Also use the bump button from time to time. I see it hasn’t been bumped in awhile.

There is not much demand for an expensive hunting rifle like yours. Ask yourself if you were in the market for a hunting rifle and had $1500-$1700 to spend, would you buy yours? No way. You're selling it because you have other hunting rifles that are better. Other rifles will probably work better for those looking to buy a hunting rifle. Of course you can sell anything if the price is too good to pass up (hint, hint).

Also could be the caliber? A little niche but not too niche? Buyer would possibly need to be specific on buying that caliber?
