New parts transfer Law PC and personal sales repercussions?

Hello,

I have heard of the new parts transfer law but don't really know the repercussions of it.

Could someone please state the PC and also how it affects private sales?

I was trying to source a Glock slide and the seller said that we had to go to a dealer for a PPT for just the slide. Is that correct?

That's what the law says, just all barrels. I don't know if you will find an FFL that wants to do it though

that's my understanding, it's only for "firearm industry members"

what you're talking about falls into the similar category of going all the way to a FFL to sell one box of ammo where theres no way of knowing who has what unless they talk about it.
Some people shoot their ammo, some people gift their ammo, some people sell their ammo... and then theres some people that goto a store and pay the store to allow them to do the above mentioned tasks
It's up to buyers and sellers to figure out what they're going to do in this ever evolving time

I was asking a simple question about the PC and what it means for me buying, selling and trading here in CA "legally".

What BS! I don't keep up with the latest new laws, but I assume the purpose of this one has to do with 3D printing?

You can create all the parts you need for a... gasp!... "ghost gun", but you still need a real barrel to make it work, right?

This law is a way to keep felons from printing all the parts and then buying a real barrel to make it functional, with no checks?

No, criminals tend to not have an issue sourcing illegal firearms. This is strictly California sticking it to gun owners because other states banned abortion.
