Love mine. I have a Sten Chen magwell with new grips that work great with it, XS sights. My first foray into the world of 1911s, aside from shooting my favorite uncle’s chromed out Colt when I was a kid. This was during break in, before new G10 grips. Going to change to a right-hand-only thumb safety soon too. I defiantly caught the 1911 bug from this little EMP and it’s only a mater of time before I buy another!

That, or pay 2x from the scalpers that buy all of them as soon as them are in stockHard to get those Stan Chens it seems! Did you sign up for a waitlist?
Stan Chen magwells are sick but never occurred to me to put them on an EMP.Love mine. I have a Sten Chen magwell with new grips that work great with it, XS sights.
Get gold way better than tritiumStan Chen magwells are sick but never occurred to me to put them on an EMP.
Mine is a CCW so I’ve personalized it for slimness. So far, G10 grips that’re a tad skinnier than stock and deleting the ambi safety. Probably only saved about 1/8” of width, but it was a fun project nonetheless.
Currently waiting on some Heinie’s “straight eight” night sights just because I prefer them to three dots.
Also recently discovered an aftermarket guide rod set that I might try.
Does that magwell increase the footprint much?
Too late, already ordered the tritium. Is the gold bead really better in the dark?Get gold way better than tritium
Nights sights are ajoke man. If its dark enough to see the tritium its too dark to clearly identify your target. once you hit that weapon light your essentially using black irons. Gold at least reflects some of the ambient light from your WML or peripheral light sources.Too late, already ordered the tritium. Is the gold bead really better in the dark?
Gotcha. Are there people running lights on EMPs though? Kinda seems like putting a header-straight-pipe setup in a Prius.Nights sights are ajoke man. Ok lets switch to a hand held light. Same thing.Gotcha. Are there people running lights on EMPs though? Kinda seems like putting a header-straight-pipe setup in a Prius.
My p2000 that is in my bio vault next to my bed has a streamlight and night sights. The BIG benefit of night sights is it orients my grab in total darkness. The streamlight turns on to illuminate my target when I want. Yes, I find them useful and non joke like.Nights sights are ajoke man. but you could just put a glow in the dark dinosaur stickerMy p2000 that is in my bio vault next to my bed has a streamlight and night sights. Don’t get me wrong; lights and dots and everything else of that ilk has its place.Ok lets switch to a hand held light. Same thing.
I would call Heine, and ask if you can switchDon’t get me wrong; lights and dots and everything else of that ilk has its place.
Keeping things on the 1911 topic, a TRP full rail with a light and red dot is absolutely something I might run as a nightstand gun to defend my personal Alamo.
But the EMP is my main CCW gun. I guess I just don’t understand trying to turn any (sub)compact into something its not: a bonafide fighting pistol.
Are gold beads considered a “combat” sight? I usually here them referenced by bullseye and/or 1911 guys who like drip in a more target/range context.
Heine’s “straight eight” configuration is easier for me to align quickly than traditional three-dot sights; and the slight glow of tritium in lower light seems to help me too.
I had no idea night sights were so despised … lol
Heinie does straight 8 gold beadI would call Heine, and ask if you can switch
Ok that’s a painful comparison to call an EMP a Prius. How about a Nissan engine in a Cuda.Gotcha. Are there people running lights on EMPs though? Kinda seems like putting a header-straight-pipe setup in a Prius.

I noticed when I was ordering sights. I’ll check their return/exchange policy.Heinie does straight 8 gold bead
