I don't generally open carry, and it's illegal here AFAIK without a BSIS exposed firearms permit. Why are you so fearful though? Last time I open carried was in Nevada and only because it's the only way I could legally carry. Nothing you said happened, no autistic freaks staring at me etc. Nobody cared at all, even at Costco lol. I didn't notice any more attention than what I normally get. You've got an interesting fantasy world created in your mind though. Gotta go outside man.

Even this boomer with a horrendous back carry Taurus seems to be doing fine despite the cringe of it. You gonna stare down the old timer? Or are you just attracted to looking at other men hahah

Where is the empirical evidence that open carriers are more likely to be targeted by criminals? There are documented cases of open carriers being robbed of their firearms, and there are plausible deterrence arguments in the opposite direction. Neither proves a statistical trend. To establish that open carry increases or decreases victimization, you'd need reliable comparative crime rates adjusted for exposure and other confounding factors. As far as I can find, that evidence doesn't exist. Saying open carriers are always targeted first is just as unsupported as claiming open carry makes you immune to robbery.

I would be interesting to see a poll, "If Open Carry was legal would you Open Carry". I for one would Open Carry for two reasons.

• (A) Because many around me would also open carrying (if it were legal) and while there is no definitive study to suggest that it would deter crime, I would venture it would. Imagine a bad guy walking into a restaurant or Walmart seeing a dozen or so open carrying customers/clerks. He might think twice. Now it's never gonna be legal in CA to Open Carry so it's all moot.

Yeah the more normalized it is the better for all gun owners and freedom. You are pretty much spot on. Open carry was the default for most of our history. The only reason CCW became popular was because of karen anti gun culture and left wing policies demonizing gun ownership. Gotta hide it to not upset the feelings of "woke karen types" for lack of a better word and @iLuvLatinas who will by his own admission stare down your meat if he sees a gun lol.

Yeah I said that from the start, the left wing culture change is what flipped the default from open to concealed. it's pretty well documented over the last 70 years. In the old days conceal carry was seen as dishonest

I have the open carry options as we do in az.But also the concealed one too its pretty rare to see an open carrier now unless you are in the rural towns.If open was only option i would open carry but its not so i choose concealed.I have always felt open is drawing attention thats is not needed but has its place like said in rural areas.

You may see a couple bikers here and there in town open carry.
