Question Opinions please: Sig Sauer P365 Micro Compact

I have a 365 and unfortunately not allowed to do any mods to any firearm on my ccw permit. But in its stock form I have managed to shoot OK with it. My wife hates it, she cant shoot any small frame guns. The grip texture is a little too agressive for my liking, when carried IWB it is like having sandpaper grinding at my side

I found the 365 micro a bit small for my grip and it was unpleasant to hold and shoot. Then, I picked up some X Tech “+ 0” extensions and suddenly had an easy to hold/fire/control pistol without swapping the frame, etc.

I couldn't find anything in the way of grips on the Hogue site that are specifically made for the 365 micro. Could you post a link?

IWB carrying mine, the Hogue grip I mentioned doesn't do this to me. Your IA doesn't allow even ergonomic "mods" like this?

Hey does your p365 slide not lock back after last round? I found this to be a problem when I was using this extension. I don't use it anymore after putting the Hogue sleeve on though.

Contemplating acquiring a P365 micro compact for my wife. She is a small woman, 5' 1", small hands. She is comfortable with firearms but I think any sidearm chambered more powerfully than the 9x19 might be a little too much recoil for her.

Opening this up for opinions on the P365 micro?

Yeah, seems strange, even Contra Costa county, which is one of the strictest, doesn't appear to ban grips.

Firearms with attached laser sights, flashlights, red dots, and sighting systems are not acceptable. Glow in the dark or luminescent sights are acceptable.
Firearms which have been modified, including modifications to triggers, slides, safety mechanisms, conversions, and magazine releases are not approved.

So, the bottom extension piece, I assume you insert a magazine into that?

Sig P365's are awesome, but the standard 3.1" P365 is hard to rack for many, so especially a women might the enjoy following (though adding an optic gives you more purchase on the small slide which might work ok for her?).

a) A Sig P365X with the Spectre Comp slide uses the P365XL's lighter RSA (Recoil Spring Assembly), and it's easier to rack due to the longer/heavier compensated slide and it's lighter XL RSA.

b) The Sig P365-380 has a lighter slide and RSA along with the 380's softer recoil.

My choice is "a" with optic for EDC (I'm 71 with hand arthritis).

A good friend of mine is a fairly petite woman and loves hers. I went to the range with her a few months back and tried it. Bought one immediately when they came back into stock. P365 X Macro. This version has a compensator/venting on the front barrel which makes for an incredibly balanced shot.

Another vote for the X-tech Tactical extensions. Turns the 365 and micro Hellcat into completely different guns without altering the carry profile much.

No problem. But why would there be one? The lock back is a function of mag follower engaging the lock work and the extension doesn’t fiddle with that…same spring; same spring length; same spring tension; same follower.

I have a couple of X-tech Tactical extended mags here in CA (still 10 rounds), and they lock back perfectly.

Granted I dont carry, but IMHO the 365 Micro is unecessarily small intended for "deep" concealment, like up your bunghole. I think its more cost effective to go with the Xmacro comp and size down to an XL comp if necessary. Youre going to spend a lot if you go Micro then want to convert to Xmacro. The XMacro is so slim that it is plenty concealable and much more handy. Super small micro compacts require a lot of skill to handle and even though 9mm recoil isnt harsh a larger grip too hold onto is always better.

No clue but I was having that problem with that extension. I put the original plate back and problem went away. I ended up moving away from the mag extension to using the Hogue grip anyway so I didn't pursue a solution.

My pinky is half on but I learned to shoot without the pinky grip anyway. I shot a Glock 26 for a bit, and I got a p2ksk with a flush mag as well.

Exactly. Factory flush mag plate. Mine is a fully stock P365. Only thing added on is the Hogue grip and an NDZ optic plate cover for additional serrations on the slide. My IA doesn't allow mods that alter action etc, but tbh, this shoots fine as is. Decided to remove the optic as well. Conceals easy, and I shoot fine at 7 yards. That will do for CCW.
