I want to sell a couple of handguns rather quickly and other than here and calguns (shudder - I think calguns is a waste of time as it is) should I just bite the bullet and sell them on consignment with a LGS? Or lower my prices to a crazy insane rock bottom giving it away offer?
Gunbroker? Armslist?

Consignment means the FFL has to hold it for 30 days before selling so that's not a great option. You will get the most money posting on here for sure.

I sell a bunch of stuff on here and I do think that money is a bit tight right now for folks. I looked at the ad you have up and I have a few suggestions if you want to sell quicker: sell the optic and the slide, each separately, on ebay, sell the pistol on here with the non OR slide. Also make a separate post for each pistol and since you are in a low population area mention that you are willing to drive to the bay to do the transfer

consignments suck because you also have to factor the double taxes and the shops cut. that increases the OTD price a LOT. depending on your local or big box store. its usually 15-30% cut. So me as a buyer $1500 tag price is really 1850 dollars. that's instant deal killer.

Posting it here is your best bet. I do think people don't have as much free cash for guns and fun things as they had 1-2 years ago. Even staccatos are sitting around on here, going through multiple price cuts before selling.

If you're trying to recoup or come up on a sale, LGS sometimes does the trick if you have some room to play with. We forget that there is a giant pool of people that dont know how to get to forums and also dont want to deal with the internet so they appreciate a consignment that ends up $50-100 below retail + tax in like new condition.

if you want max exposure, it doesnt hurt to post on all 3, but thicken your skin and have a polite response to lowballers. I tend to sympathize with lowballers because I understand that not everyone gets to play with a big budget. There is always a cheaper option that you can Politely Recommend to lowballers without burning bridges. Sometimes they come back for the nice stuff when they get a bonus heh.

If you really need to get rid of something quick, take a lowballers offer and pass it to your friends. They will appreciate the deal much more graciously.

That P226 is a nice gun. But I think your problem is your location. If you were in Socal, Sac or Bay Area you'd probably find a buyer.

If you goto a dealer to sell consignment you're probably only going to come away with $400-$500 cash. Lower the price to $650, make it an offer people cant refuse. Thats how you make quick sales. You have to offer it at a price people cant ignore.
